Hate this double elimination, two bracket farce. That's how you wind up with clowns winning the CWS.
My format. 8 teams. Seeded 1-8. First weekend, 2 of 3 matchup, second weekend, 2 of 3 semifinals, and third weekend, 2 of 3 championship series.
THAT is how you determine the best team. ***** the weekday games.
The current format determines the team with the best draw, and/or gets lucky in a game or two. Teams that had NO business winning a NC, like that sorry *** Oregon St, Vandy, Fresno (or was that Cal State Fullerton?) luck out.
That CWS (where we threw the first game to UGA) is a classic example. Fresno was like what, the 64th seed? Their whole bracket was phony, and all they had to do was beat a default UGA in the finals.
2 of 3 is the REAL way to determine a NC.
