A spin-off of LoyalCane24's Offensive Predictions. This is just preliminary since most of our targets haven't been established yet, so I will omit some players/positions.

DE: Braylan Ingraham- Its going to happen eventually, but we need more targets at DE. Ingraham seems to be the only player at DE that we have traction with so he's in.
https://247sports.com/player/braylen-ingraham-90371

DT: Derick Hunter- Unfortunately I think we have another Nesta/Copeland, guys who most likely already know where they're going but wants to have "fun" throughout the process. He plays very violent.
https://247sports.com/Player/Derick-Hunter-45573134

DT: Denzel Daxon- Probably going to end up being one of my favorite commits. Has good strength and athleticism for someone his size.
https://247sports.com/player/denzel-daxon-46049404

DE: Cameron Williams- Commit
https://247sports.com/player/cameron-williams-46042982

LB: Sam Brooks- Can't see him going anywhere else. Once he gains strength to go along with that explosiveness
https://247sports.com/Player/Samuel-Brooks-86992

LB: Jesiah Pierre- Commit
https://247sports.com/player/jesiah-pierre-94345

CB: Tyrique Stevenson- It would feel good to finally secure an elite DB from South Florida. Very talented kid.
https://247sports.com/Player/Tyrique-Stevenson-460370

CB: Jaden Davis- I'll put him here for now. Don't know why some of these jits in South Florida have an affinity for UF.
https://247sports.com/Player/Jaden-Davis-92991

S: Mark Richards- Lets keep this legacy going.
https://247sports.com/player/mark-richards-94554

S: Joshua Sanguinetti- Just Stanford stands between us, for now, and I like our chances.
https://247sports.com/Player/Josh-Sanguinetti-46036718

Thought: We will finally be able to cast out a net across Florida for some DT talent. Sorrells and or Davis are definitely guys we want but until they reciprocate the same feelings I'm not going to put them in this class. The DE board needs expansion. Most of our LB targets project to be OLB; hopefully we can find an ideal MLB ala Shaq or Perryman. It will be difficult to pull in a disappointing DB class this year with so much talent--the Rumph haters/truthers won't have much to say.

It's difficult to pull in a disappointing DB class for us, even with a no-personality CB coach. There is just so much DB talent in South Florida that even if you miss the top guys, you'll still have an excellent class. In the '17 class, we lost Wilson, Henderson, Davis, etc, but we still ended up with Bandy, Carter, and Smith. In '18, we lost Campbell, Surtain, Jobe, etc but we still end up with Frierson, Blades, Hall, Ivey.

And obviously, we need to be looking at a lot of DEs and LBs. I don't think we can wait to offer Chatfield-type talents until late. We may have the elite guys that we want, but let the not-quite elite guys commit early to make sure we have numbers.

We will probably take 3 linebackers and I hope we can land the top flight corners next year. We really need 3 solid corners who can step in right away since we lose Jackson and Dean.

We better land Khris Bogle he fell in love with Georgia on his unofficial and I’m already sick of Kirby and Coley. We’ll probably take 3 LBs this class by the way I’ll take Solomon think Michigan leads right now for him

The 2019 class has to be mostly defense. We need to sign.....
DE-4
DT-3
LB-3
CB-3
S-3

That's 16 scholarships on defense alone.

On offense I would say....
QB-1
RB-2
WR-2
TE-2
OL-4

That adds up to 11 scholarships on offense for a grand total of 27. I don't know how many we will have available to give and obviously the above numbers are just speculation based on my understanding of the roster.

I don't know the exact nature of the problems we are having in recruiting the DL specifically DT nor do I know why Rumph is having issues recruiting elite CB's. The bottom line however is that Richt must address and resolve these problems immediately. 2018 was an excellent offensive class and great overall but it seems obvious from where I stand that the 2019 and 2020 classes, specifically their impact on defense will determine Richt's success here.

DE: Khris Bogle, Cameron Williams, Lloyd Summerall, and 1 more (Jeremy Passmore, or one of these dudes with prototypical size Kools been offering)

DT: Denzel Daxon, Jaquaze Sorrells, Renato Brown, and maybe Derrick Hunter

LB: Sam Brooks, Anthony Soloman, Jesiah Pierre, and 1 more (Diamante Howard is committed, but wouldn't be surprised to get Avery Huff, Jahmar Brown, Darius Williams, or Ge'mon Eaford

CB: Jaden Davis, Kaiir Elam, 1 more (Chris Steele, Akeem Dent, Renardo Green, etc)

S: Tyrique Stevenson, Mark Richards, Josh Sanguinetti. And McIntosh can be considered a Safety too.

If true, might as well cross him off the list.

Here we go. Definitely not talking about the AH kids but believe what you want. Besides Tracy, when is the last time we got a sure-fire top prospect at DB? Like the top kid at his position.

Look at everyone you listed, Besides our freshmen, who's had an elite career? Where are our Patrick Petersons, Marshon Lattimore, Jamal Adams, Vernon Hargreaves, Xavier Rhodes, Tyrann Mathieu, etc.?

This is very close to what I would predict at this point, except the DB's. Davis will be very hard to pull away from UF, and TS is a corner.

We'll have many more defensive signees in this class than in the OP.

3 DTs, 3 DEs, 3-4 LBs, 3 CBs, 2 Ss.

And the vast majority of these players will be in state.

We're off to a good start on the DL with Brown, Daxon and Williams, but we need to get them all committed early and at least half of them to sign during the early signing period so that we're not running around at the last second trying to secure commits like we did in the '18 class.

I don't believe we will sign 27 guys.. I see more like this year. If we don't hit on our main targets we are not going to just take bodies. 24 Max...

We were actively recruiting like 6 guys after the early sign period. What do you mean "running around at the last second.... Every school saved spots to try and lure top guys. . Lol

We need to bring in a large DL and LB class since we’re losing Willis, Djax, and most likely joe Jax and Pinckney.

This class is the class to get our numbers right at each position and be near the 85 limit with quality players.

We had 25 initial counters for the 2018 class out of a possible 28. So 3 of those 2018 EEs/transfers will be applied to the 2017 class. That frees up another 3 spots for us in 2019. Meaning the MAX is again 28 for 2019.

Right now if nobody leaves early or transfers out the most we could sign would be 21 for 2019, but I doubt that happens considering I see us losing about 7+ current juniors. Everything works out so that a 28 man class would put us right at the limit for Initial counters and max scholarship players per yr.

So our max is NOT 24. Thats like our min if we miss out on a bunch of guys.

I hope all our guys get drafted (RJ, Norton, Chad Thomas, Harris, Moten) to show these 2019 kids that coach kool will get them there.

I think with this Surge19' group the staff will definitely focus on signing a DEFENSE HEAVY group!! 3-4 DTs, 2-3 DEs, 3-4 LBs, 4-5 DBs 2-3 ATHs
