Offense is vastly improved. If I’m being nitpicky I’d run a bit more no huddle and DJ and Cam need to account for at least 30 carries a game. OL will be fine with experience. That’s our main issue on offense is experience. I definitely expect our 3rd down % to increase as the season goes on. Once the OL gets settled we won’t be in as many 3rd and longs which is what is happening. I also don’t feel coaching is an issue. Just experience at the 2 positions on the team that needs the most, LT & QB.
I don’t recognize this defense. My feeling is there is less blitzing due to the DBs being mostly inexperienced and we are already getting beat deep. Garvin and patchan need to be benched under #15 and Hill. Willis May have covered up more holes than we thought last year. Our DTs aren’t getting pressure up the middle and were not clutch against the run last night. Hopefully Nesta can fix this but I’m not holding my breath.
