My $0.02 on Mario/Beck

Man you making a lot of assumptions about Beck lol. He’s a better man than me! Cause I’d be going off on everyone on this team including the coaches for their terrible play calling! But hey, I was a linebacker in college.. we are expected to go off on teammates and be leaders.. when QB’s go off it looks bad and they say bad body language and blah blah blah. Look, if we put this kid in the best situation to succeed and he’s sucking than so be it, but we ain’t running a half decent offense here. Everyone is talking about how ****** our coaching is.
Amen brother, I’d be ripping everyone, including Mario. That is…as long as the check has already been cashed.

Disagree with OP on Beck.He has played well except for Louisville game.
SMU game he played well until OT.If it wasn’t for Beck we would have lost in regulation.Had no run game at all, multiple OL penalties and still came thru. The 1 st INT was on Trader.
Also BS offensive PI call early in game negated big completion inside 5 yard line.

Coaches are putting Beck in difficult position with Caveman Offense they run.
He played well against Florida?

Beck has shown that he is more than capable of QB’ing this roster to the playoffs. The failure of this team falls on Mario. Fans begged for decades for the school and its boosters to invest heavily into the football program. They did. And Mario has lit that money on fire. Dude is fool’s gold and I was an absolute fool to believe this year would be different.
Wrong. Beck is the reason the offense isnt explosive, its the reason teams play us like they do, and the offensive coaches have lost trust in him.

Also just because you FINALLY show an investment into football, doesnt mean anything. A lot of schools are invested into football, and have been for longer than Miami.

Its means you have a chance to compete at that top 10 to top 20 level.

Good stuff and true. I think Mario surrounds himself with assistants he’s comfortable knowing and believing they know less than him. I don’t see any of his assistants moving on to becoming great head coaches. That is the difference of less than mediocrity compared to the greatness of Saban who has lost many assistants to better positions and head coaching jobs and still kept winning.

Mario recruited Beck. QB room is his.

Accountability: Mario

coaching has tanked his nfl aspirations and folks want him to be stoic while dawson fiddles in a note pad trying to call a play in all the while not letting him audible anything. lol he was tired of the f*ck sh*t this saturday especially when he was playing well.

I seem to remember some here got their hopes up as our OC was a practitioner of the Mike Leach football philosophy - meaning - a bit of the Air Raid offense.

I recall too, one of Leach's QB's telling of an early play being called, but as he looked at the defense - he had to check off and change the play.

Later, he went to Leach and apologized for the play changeup at the line.

He said that Leach told him "whatever we call - that's a suggestion. You change plays depending on what the defense shows you."

That just keeps popping into my head - well - every single game we play in.

We are way too tight. No one is really having fun out there.

Recall the Cotton Bowl against Texas. The two-gun receiver told our QB Erickson that "I don't care what was called - I haven't caught **** all day long. You hit me."

And he did. And - the famous clip that shows him run through the end zone into the tunnel - coming back with both hands configured into six shooters.

And speaking of penalties - they hurt - but they didn't hurt that day in the Cotton Bowl, although it seemed every other play was a fifteen yard penalty on us.

We're not having fun. We're not loose. We're all but strangled out there.

I’m not really buying this sense that Miami wants to win ‘his way’. Would anyone say he won his way last year? No, he had a stellar QB and gave that guy/the offense the liberty to do whatever they wanted. If you wanna say that the OL splits are his way that’s fine. But people called Mario a QB killer and that was put to rest. He let Dawson/Cam do whatever they wanted as far as I’m concerned

he was beyond done with that trash can overrated OL along with the coaches calling timeouts even when he beats the play clock and gets the play off.

he didnt give cam the liberty. cam literally changed his own ****. nothing coaches could do about it beyond benching him or ****ing him off. he saved their asses each week. it got to the point where even cam was deciding uniform combos bc the team would only listen to cam and thats it. they know hes saving their *** and theyre riding only with him.

why does the offense look the same right now as it did with gattis? the run game looks the same right now as it did in oregon?

its marios identity. dawson even said the run scheme isnt even his.

lot of guessing going on in this post

My guy, you've posted nonsense like this without ever proving youre actual point. Most on this board dont have a direct line to the HCs office, but do have a bit of football knowledge, which leads to speculation, base on what we see.

BUT, If you have any actual info, do share...

Beck isn't the reason we have ran the ball 26 straight times on 3rd/4th and shorts

TrumpyCane saw Beck is completing 80% on PA passes, why aren't runnig PA on these short yardage situations? Beck can.t complete a 2 yard dump off? We ran it once at the goal line and Beck completed a pass to a wide open TE
