Muschamp Fired (Actually)

Not going to happen, but would love to have him as our DC.

but

he’ll end up on Alabama or Georgia staff as a Analyst or something.

We need to hire him as a "Quality Control" consultant for the final 3 games, see what perspective he can bring.

Told y'all it was coming.

Pruitt might be for the taking as well. Depends on how they badly they finish (to be clear, it's going to be bad, but if he keeps it respectable he might survive).

Charlie Skrong wants back in as well.

Manny has options.
Yep. I heard if South Carolina fires Muschamp it would speed up the process in getting rid of Pruitt. Tennessee wants Freeze, and if they get wind of USCe talking about him, Pruitt is done.

If pruitt gets fired he’s going back to Bama, I think Saban gonna get rid of their DC

If I were USCe I would hire Dave Clawson and have him bring in Ruggiero at OC and give him some money for a good DC. I watch a lot of Wake football because my brother is an alum and has season tickets every year. I also used to go to his staff clinics twice a year and they were better than any of the others I went to (Kentucky, UT, UNC, App State, VT). I honestly think he's one of the better/more under rated coaches in America. The worst roster on paper in the ACC year over year and he continues to win 7-8 games.

He also continues to produce good coordinators that get scooped up elsewhere that Wake can't afford. I'd bet he'd have a homerun hire with $1 million to drop on a good DC. Teams like UT & VT should have already made that move.

I’d take Strong as DC and Rob as co-DC/DB coach. Banda as a recruiting coord for DB’s or he can kick rocks. Rumph gone. Keep Patke as special teams and give him the LBers (he’s a solid coach but poor recruiter imo).

Still can't answer the question?

I'll gladly answer yours after you grow a pair and answer mine

Was Dabo a real coach going 6-7 in his 7th year at a program and 3rd year as HC

Yes or no
Your failed retorts are ridiculous.

You keep trying to imply that the fact that Dabo had a bad year in his past somehow means something about whether Manny is a good coach. It's logically a face-plant on your side. And it's absurd in the context of a comparison because Dabo has multiple national titles and is proven to be amongst the few best coaches in the country. So there's affirmative evidence of his quality. By contrast, Manny hasn't proven crap.

At most/best, you're trying to contend that it's not impossible that Manny could progress to become Dabo. I guess you can argue that, but just say so if it's your point. I'm happy agreeing that it's not impossible, but I'd add that it ain't remotely likely and there is zero reason for anyone to believe that.

I’d take strong over chump. Strong is a better culture fit. New corners coach is a given obv. Personally I feel we’re wasting our team. Baker isn’t going anywhere imo. And as someone else said of usce was smart they’d hire Dave clawson. That guy is a dam good coach. Maybe not elite but a grey coach

How well would Muschamp and T-Rob recruit here without having a bag game?
TRob can recruit anywhere. South Carolina's bag game is trash. TRob would be an A+ hire in some capacity here. I don't know if he'd be willing to take a step back from his current DC title, but he might have to. He's the type of guy that the bag schools are already bidding for.

T Rob is Muschamp Protégé. Muschamp take him everywhere he is hired. But Muschamp is a 3-4 coach and I see a lot of folks on here against that scheme

TRob might want to branch out on his own at some point, as he's now realized hitching his wagon to the Muschimp soap horse might not be the best career path for him.

It's rare for a school to hire another DC to be HC right after failing miserably hiring a DC.

You are absolutely right. On the other hand, this particular DC is regarded as one of the best of the country (arguably top 3 in the last decade) and he is already in South Carolina, living only 2 hrs away. I don't know what USCe thought they were getting in Muschump in the first place. They wanted some of that UF magic that got him hired? Part of the issue is that Muschump was hired for his defensive acumen, but the Gamecocks defense sucked. Normally I think fans hate following up an OC hire with an OC or a DC with a DC when the team fails because of the other side of the ball (for example, if the Miami defense was really good but we couldn't put points on the board, I can understand wanting an offensive-minded coach after Diaz). However, if the defensive guy totally flops at improving the defense, I don't think there will be quite as much resistance if following with an elite DC, especially one as highly regarded as Venables. Both sides of the ball need work so fans might be more comfortable with hiring the best coach available even if it's on the same side of the ball. Realistically I think USCe is going to go hard after Freeze, but I'm hoping his baggage causes too much backlash and USCe goes with Venables as the safe choice, as I'd like to see Clemson get dismantled piece by piece.
