Multiple choice question: why are we playing more aggressive football?

1. The banners and critics made the coaches realize they had to change the scheme

2. The players are finally listening to the coaches but the scheme is the same

3. They aren't. Its an illusion. It's just the teams we've played lately are not as good as the others.

4. The awesome Hucks family influence inspired the team - 3 for 3 after AH (after Hucks)

5. Other (elaborate, please)

Good question. Tough to answer in the middle of it. We will knee at the end of the year.

The coaches will say 2.
The haters will say 3.
The hopefuls will say 1.

Screen shots of the alignments between the losses and yesterday's game will help provide some answers.

Folden absolutely felt the heat. Anyone who questions that that ultra sensitive dude didn't feel the walls closing in on him is a moron who would be exterminated like a dopey ****roach if he was born in North Korea.

Folden felt heat, and he's had the benefit of playing some awful teams. Combine those factors, and you have your answer to the "what has changed?" question.

Because we have played 4 straight Campbell's Tomato Soup Cans. We just happened to lose to one of the Soup Cans (Georgia Tech). Yet, one of the Soup Cans we beat (Duke) did not have a problem beating the Soup Can (Georgia Tech) that kicked our teeth in.

There you have it. It's easy to be tough against Soup Cans.

Fly The F*cking Banner....

then why haven't we in the past 10 years?

5 the other being golden and Dorito decided to become more aggressive because of 1 and possibly because of 3. They were on a sinking ship and realized something had to change. We will find out against FSU if this new philosophy sticks or just an aberration.

This team has grown in confidence every game. You can see it on the sideline & the way they're planing right now. I have to hand it to Art Kehoe with 3 starters out he has patched together another great performance by the OL. I'm praying they have no more injuries as depth is really a concern right now.

WHAT HAVE WE WON!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Jesus christ people. Lose to FSU, and we are right on track to our best record in the past 10 years ( at best!)

It's several things. The players are better and they're more comfortable with what they are doing. Their success has given the coaches the faith and freedom to stay on the attack. This is not a new playbook, and it's not about who is calling the plays. They didn't change the entire defense in a week. It's the same plays being executed better and called with more freedom. The fundamentals (tackling and coverage) have been very good with few bad mental errors.

It's important to remember that GT can be thrown out entirely and Nebraska can be thrown out a bit as well. Those (especially GT) are one game gameplans. What you do against Tech has nothing to do with anyone else. You throw that game out and the style has been the same for most games since the season started. I'm still not sure that we have any idea of what to do with a read option style of team like Nebraska because we looked baffled that game.

Every game is different, but I think we've proven that we're capable of executing against most styles of offense, and there's no reason for the coaches to do anything other than what they've been doing until we face a drastic style change or perhaps superior talent.

Maybe, just maybe, the players and coaches are all on the same page and we are getting better?

Other. We are playing more aggressive because the players finally know the scheme and are not out of position all the time. When everyone knows their assignment it allows u to take a lot more chances. I still would of been taking more chances before. We would of given up a lot of big plays but at least we would not have our defense on the field the whole game.

I think the players felt more heat and ownership than the coaches did...If you listen to some of the post game interviews, it is evident the players are taking more ownership for trying to turn this thing around. For example, McCord at halftime challenged Perrymen to match his intensity in the second half. Also, Al stated that Duke is practicing at a level not seen before. So, I think the players have stepped there game up, which in turn allow the coaches to implement more aggresive play calling. How can you send Burns and Elder on a blitz; if you're not confident the guys behind them will be where they need to be...just sayin' GO CANES

Golden and Dorito have MAJOR trust issues, MAJOR.

They projected their issues on to the team, and players were playing scared.

Largely due to "the noise" imo, Al has changed up his approach i'm guessing, confessed to his players I suspect, and they have his back now, hope it continues...
