Mullins

Kid has to be a redshirt. If the depth at WR weren't as bad as it is, that'd be a no-brainer

How is it a no-brainer to redshirt one of your most gifted athletes physically and ability-wise? I would imagine if he is showing he can compete for PT in fall camp, you let him compete/play. If not (highly doubtful), sure, go ahead and redshirt. Even if the WR depth was better, Mullins could potentially make an impact on either side of the ball and lets not forget about special teams. I see no reason to RS him, other than the fact that he hasnt played in a year and half. From what he showed at the UA game/practices, that didnt seem to be a problem

Why would you redshirt anyone that is suppose to be that good. He has to put in 3 years, either 1 shirt and 2 playing or 3 playing. Then gone..

did you read my post? I'm arguing against redshirting him. Not sure how you got anything else from that.

The whole not playing his senior year and not being in for Spring camp thing is my point. If ever there were a candidate for a redshirt season, it's the guy who misses his entire senior year and doesn't arrive until August. I mean, he hasn't even been here for the Summer 7 on 7 work, at least I don't believe he has. Lack of depth has pushed Miami to play guys as freshman in recent years, particularly under Golden, who really could've benefited from a redshirt. Obviously, there is a significant lack of depth at the WR spot, so the redshirt might not be an option. It seems, given he hasn't even played H.S. ball in over a year, that expecting Mullins to come in and be a regular contributor from day 1 is unrealistic. Hopefully, he isn't forced into the lineup do to lack of depth.

Now if he's able to come in after sitting out that long and not arriving on campus until August, and he picks everything up day 1, and is ready to play, of course you play him. Just seems highly unlikely to me.

Bottom line: no one really knows and it is best to wait until first game before anyone assumes anything...... And I say this with all due respect to UknowWhat.

He can start school but not get cleared by clearinghouse until they approve it...kinda like gus had to deal with his freshman year...

Clearinghouse issues usually happen to kids who attended several HS and have multiple, hard to decipher transcripts.

Mullins case is pretty straightforward. He just needed the test score and additional coursework. I doubt he has any issues

It's also happened to kids who get that test score late in the game.

I'm going with the word of the father of one of the most highly respected freshman on the team. Why would a potential teammate lie to the Dad ? Maybe he could have but then do you want that kind of teammate?

At some point, someone is going to have to blowup and rebuild the NCAA. Outside of the FEC, its hard for me to imagine a more useless entity that literally has people creating rules, process and procedures that serve no other purpose than justifying the need to create more rules, process and procedures that only they could possibly understand and interpret and thus, justifying their continued existence.

They don't serve students or their families. Quite the opposite. And we have seen how they do not, nor can they, treat all schools equally.

The major conferences should split off and create their own regulating body.

I talked with him at the camp and he said he starts school on August 3rd

Where?
I am starting to believe 2016 is the worst year for new CIS Posters. Perhaps they are actually imPOSTERS.

It will be funny to look back at your statement on August 4th.
U don't thinks he gets in?

It's the middle of July and he hasn't graduated HS. It will be a close call but I don't think he will make it in for the 2016 season.

I would tell Dionte that the secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you’re in control of your life. If you don’t, life controls you.

I'm sorry. I thought he was taking a course in pursuit of his HS degree this summer.

You need to identify your problems but give your power and energy to solutions.
