Mullins

I'd like to see Mullins get some reps in practice at FS.

First I thought this was Footballhelmet, than i looked over at the username and was like oh its Mark

Mullins played with a mean streak in the secondary at times during his HS career.

When I first saw Mullins film I thought Safety all the way. Big, physical, with elite ball skills. That's everything you can want at that position and he plays it with natural instinct. If he actually played his senior year, we would have more tape of him back there and I think people would be way more open to that idea. But, the reality is that our WR situation is thin as ****, and Mullins has the ability to step in and get immediate PT. To add to that, I believe Mullins was being recruited as an athlete but stated he wanted to play WR. For that reason only do I think he's better suited on the offensive side of the ball.

1997: Moss, Wayne, Jones, King

2016: Bruce, Richards, Mullins, Harris

Kid has to be a redshirt. If the depth at WR weren't as bad as it is, that'd be a no-brainer

How is it a no-brainer to redshirt one of your most gifted athletes physically and ability-wise? I would imagine if he is showing he can compete for PT in fall camp, you let him compete/play. If not (highly doubtful), sure, go ahead and redshirt. Even if the WR depth was better, Mullins could potentially make an impact on either side of the ball and lets not forget about special teams. I see no reason to RS him, other than the fact that he hasnt played in a year and half. From what he showed at the UA game/practices, that didnt seem to be a problem

Anyone heard the rule, that if you have a low GPAnot sure the number you have to sit out your freshman year

Why would you redshirt anyone that is suppose to be that good. He has to put in 3 years, either 1 shirt and 2 playing or 3 playing. Then gone..

did you read my post? I'm arguing against redshirting him. Not sure how you got anything else from that.

Mullins may not be the fastest or most athletic but you can tell when you see him line up in the secondary that he is a natural. It comes second nature and he moves around well.

Mullins is good, might be the most polish receiver we signed last class.

probably the most raw of the WR's we signed last class. Dude hasnt played in close to two years and relied purely on athletic ability. Couple that in with the terrible coaching at Gulliver and you have a guy who shows all the potential in the world without even having begun to polish the surface. Mullins might have the most upside, but he definitely wasnt the most polished. Ahmmon Richards is definitely the most polished we signed.
