Mullen's Contract

Mullen Is a good coach. Sorry Miss St was a dump before he got there. They have no business being in games against Bama. The biggest thing he does and all good coaches do, is hire good assistants. They get better jobs when they leave there. Look at every good coach and you see the same thing.

ole miss gave bama problems, and had no business doing so

means nothing
Did you see the players Ole Miss were recruiting? Please. Miss St can only dream of getting any of those players that went there.

Btw in the last 4 years, Ole Miss has #7 , #16 , #21 and #7 class according to Rivals. I find them to be more credible in their rankings. They were recruiting with the big boys.

Probably because Ole Miss was doing some legendary cheating and their entire program is about to be nuked for it, probably in the next few days.

regardless, ole miss didn't do anything with those players in the first place

you'd think they'd be competing at a high level, but they're not

That's a lot of money for a lateral move.

Says more about how bad option 4 was than how good option 3 is; they couldn't afford another "no."

Mullen was option #4

[TWEET]935595822061903872[/TWEET]

Chip, Frost, Mullen... who else? Gruden?

Gundy

My bad, once they whiffed on the first two, I assumed Mullen was next man up. Paying a lot of money for a 4th place contestant. They've got negotiating backwards.

Oh and MIATL and mcmachete-- seriously?-- I'll follow the Gators next coaching search much more closely, I promise.

Bro ... You didn't have to follow the search. You just had to READ THE QUOTED POST YOU WERE RESPONDING TO.

:jordan:

Probably the only reason Gundy is interested in leaving is because T. Boone doesnt like him.

Wow....... Gundy history at OSU is what seems to be a lifer. Get facts and notice when monetary negotiations are at work. He would not leave the Tx market. Wow brains

Yeesh! Paying through the nose for your 4th choice? And I thought we were bad for wiffing on Gruden!

LMAO at people trying to diminish the job he did......I don't get peoples expectations.

Really expect someone to be able to build a program to go toe to toe every year with Bama, LSU and Auburn in your own division at Miss St?

Vandy is in the east. I'd say normally it would be

1. Bama
2. LSU
3. Auburn
4. Tex A&M
5. Arkansas
6. Ole Miss
7. Miss St

1 winning season in the SEC.

Teams he beat:

Jackson State (x2)
Middle Tennessee (x2)
Memphis (x2)
Alcorn State
Houston
UAB (x3)
LaTech (x3)
Tennessee–Martin (x2)
Troy (x2)
South Alabama (x2)
Alcorn State
Bowling Green
Southern Miss (x2)
Northwestern State
UMass (x2)
Samford
Charleston Southern

29 wins against that level of competition. Take out 29 cupcakes and he's 40-45 (47.1%). No one pads their schedules like the SEC.

He also lost to South Alabama too.

And......Miss St was only winning 30% of its games INCLUDING THE CUPCAKES BEFORE HIM.

He got MSU to the Orange Bowl.....Had theme Ranked #1 in the country at some point. Really think about that. He had MSU ranked #1 in the country for 4 weeks into the middle of November.

The unrealistic expectations and lack of perspective really are stunning. I guess David Cutcliffe is doing a crappy to mediocre job at Duke by these standards.

There was a reason he was Florida's 4th choice. Don't try to pretend it's something it's not.

miss state isn't a vanderbuilt level program

they beat the dog **** out of florida back in like 2000 when uf had spurrier and was humming on all cylinders

had a nice season that season, all they needed was a decent coach.

Do people realize he has basically he our record since the time he's been there. Shannon and Golden had way better talent and I'm sorry but on average the SEC had better overall competition before the ACC caught up. Miss St is a dump. Don't try to tell me otherwise. They have 3 teams who played and won national titles in the past decade in their division. We are the only one in our division. Stop being dense.
