Mt.McKinnie Wants To Help O-Line

They think enough of him to make him honorary captain and let him talk to the kids. At this point, I see no downside to this. Heck, let's bring a few others in to "volunteer" too - like camp.

I saw a tweet to Brad Kaaya asking if he was interested in becoming an OC. His response - maybe someday....

Both greats, for sure. McKinnie didn't allow a SINGLE sack his entire college career though and finished 8th in heisman voting as an olineman. Tough to argue against that.

2001 McKinnie vs. Freeney was an epic showdown. The immovable object vs the unstoppable force. Freeney did nothing against Bryant: no sacks and no tackles. His pro career and coaching aside - he's got a world of experience, that's valuable.

If that’s the case absolutely. That would be a good thing but he can’t change the blocking scheme so it will only help so much.
I’m not an OL expert, but even I can see that technically our linemen are horrible. Could improved technique get the QB an extra beat. I dunno but it’s worth a shot.

These big for nothing ******* need to load up in Joaquin’s mom’s minivan and push that **** through campus the entire summer. Build some ****** nuts then work on your technique.

I think that’s the first thing that those past Canes that built this thing would tell our present guys. Championship Attitude. Outwork everybody else. Stars don’t matter, what you did in high school or last year don’t matter. And ones vs ones.

McKinnie very well may be the best OL to play at The U. His dominating performance against Freeney in 2001 was incredible.

I would not call him mediocre, but his NFL carrer was a disappointment given he was the 7th overall pick. A single Pro Bowl in 2009 - which many thought was underdeserving considering he was benched the same season - meh. Missing link for the Ravens Super Bowl win? Huh? McKinnie was so good he went unsigned as FA afterwards, and resigned with the Ravens. Who traded him to the Dolphins for a conditional late round pick.

I’m glad he won a ring with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, and made some good money.

What our team is missing, is GOOD coaching. That's what this WHOLE team needs. We have amateur hour everyday these kids come to practice.
Matter of fact, the coaches practice being coaches at the same time these kids need to practice, not a good recipe.
