So whenever a patient dies, the medical teams undergo a mortality and morbidity conference to note the cause of death and what can be done to prevent the next one.

let's do this with the Golden regime.

what happened?

He sucked that's what happened. Exaplanation- he was a stubborn SOB who refused to tailor his scheme to SFL talent. Nuff said

Not a very good coach is what happened. He was way to loyal to his assistants and couldn't make the decisions to part ways with some. His in game coaching ability matched his preparation ability, as both were substandard for big time college football. Golden never got the big time program shifting recruits to stay home. Basically it's an era everyone should just forget.

You put the guy who could barely get through Navy Boot Camp (especialy swim quals) into the SEALs, armed only with platitudes, not ability. He died.

whew.. thank god everything's ok. Thought this was going to be about Gus Felder's health

Didn't get enough of the Hispanic vote. Oh wait, that was Mitt Romney.

Fat, wimpy, Big 10 pig-faced faqq0t attempts to lead pack of wolves -- is eaten alive.

Kill yourself. We'll figure out why it happened.

He never actually wanted to win. From day one, he saw an opportunity with the Nevin fiasco. Get fired, collect millions in buyout and never have to do any actual work. He scammed Miami straight up.

Golden could have been successful with a quality staff. The problem is that you can't attract a quality staff unless you have stature which Golden didn't have. He was a bottom feeder with his hires. Ex Canes, former rejects, high school coaches all low hanging fruit. He started well enough with Fish, McDonald and others who bolted. No question the Shapiro mess was a factor but if he had tweaked along the way he had a shot. I know I may be a little too generous but I hate to see a hard working guy fail so miserably. We have never had a coach who tried harder. Someone once said that a high jumper will never know how high he can jump until he knocks the bar off. That happened at Temple with Golden. Richt has stature and the ability to hire a quality staff. On paper I view hir hires with mixed emotions. I don't know enough to judge quality yet but my first take is that with the money available the DC is slightly disappointing. I'm concerned about the co-OC arrangement. I can't see the resume plus on young Richt. Start him in another capacity like Ice and Beard had. Around the team, learning but not the main guy. All of this may work out and I certainly hope so. The improvement at the top will compensate for miscalculations down the ladder.

Average coach who didnt surround himself with better coaches + Admin didnt tell him about the pending NCAA challenges + Coach wins a few games, Admin panics that they might lose him bc of NAA and sign him to an extended contract way too early + We see his true colors as a coach which is when we should have pulled the plug but bc of the $ we hold on to him way too long

THIS! Especially after he couldn't get the PSU job.
