USF is rumored to be looking at former Manatee head coach Joe Kinnan as their new hire for their offensive coordinator position. This is big because this could influence Lawson's decision a bit more. Lawson is aware that USF's offense is "inadequate" compared to Miami's, but Kinnan is looking to run the spread at USF and that could be something that intrigues Lawson. USF's offense in the past has been very run-heavy, but with a new offensive scheme likely, USF might have more to offer Lawson than he originally saw.

Coley has to close on Lawson. If Lawson flips, we are absolutely f***** if anything happens to Kaaya and we lose his potential successor down the line.

Our QB hauls in 2012 and 2013 turned out to be horrendous. Failing miserably at recruiting QBs three out of four years (Kaaya in 2014 being the obvious exception) would be a recipe for even further disaster, if that's even possible at this point.
 
USF is more desperate and in dysfunctional than UM. Didn't think possible.
 
If it happens..... oh boy. We must hold on to Lawson. Despite having Allison, I want to stock up and fill the shelves with talent.

Lawson with these south florida kids could do some damage in the future down here for The U.
 
Forget about just Allison. We'd need to land 3 really good QBs in 2016 to make up for the misses in 2012, 2013, and 2015 if Lawson bolts. And that would be next to impossible to do when retaining a lame duck head coach for next year because the administration is too cheap, inept, and complacent to make the obvious move now.
 
While everybody else is making moves to improve their teams, we aren't doing a **** thing. 6-6 and no changes?

Just curious, why would he commit to Miami when we run a pro style offense if a spread offense intrigues him? That doesn't add up.

Because we aren't only a pro style anymore. We run a lot of spread.
 
USF is doin anything they can to land him.....it could be a loss, but when the staff starts recruiting other QBs, then im worried

Hillsborough High head coach Earl Garcia adds of Lawson that he is "solid to Miami."

"At Miami you have a true freshman (Brad Kaaya) that played lights out as a freshman, but Dwayne is going to be able to add a different dimension to the offense," Garcia said. "His strength is the read option, so he could have a package there right away to be able to help out in that aspect."

Man, Forget a dimension!

Coley needs to man the F up and announce to Lawson directly that he needs to come in and be ready to compete and most importantly come in to fight for that starting job.

Dude Lawson needs to be told by Coley that next season is a brand new season and both Kaaya and Lawson have to win the starting position; no promises made, just win baby, just win the starting gig.
 
It's 50/50 he doesn't end up at the "U". Duck Bowl will be a determining factor. A win becomes 70/30 to the "U". A loss becomes 30/70 somewhere else..Last years loss and a repeat opening to Looyville cost us big time with quality recruits..FSU Pitt and Va were just a reminder where things are really going..
 
I dont care how bad people criticize Miami, there's no way I would toil away in an unproven offense at USF. No matter where he ends up, playing time isn't guaranteed. His best bet is to work hard and beat out Malik Rosier and become #2.

I'd rather be #2 BEHIND Kaaya and play in a lot of mop up games at Miami, than get eaten alive from the get -go at USF.

By the time he is "ready", he would OWN the city of Miami.
 
UM coaching situation is not nearly as bad as USF. LOL

Lawson could win a Heisman here. Kid has a terrific arm but also the legs to move to the chains- something we've never had here. HE WOULD BE A NIGHTMARE

Was Kaaya eaten alive this year? If he was, it had a lot to do with his immobility.

Why would anyone tell a premier QB to work hard to "just" beat Rozier and settle for No. 2 ?

Kaaya is immobile but still good and promising, but that's mostly because we don't really recruit competition at the QB position and that QB that can compete is not here yet.

He hasn't shown himself to be so indispensable that a highly mobile 6'5" QB with a sub 4.5/40 that can make all the throws shall not be that guy that also competes for the No. 1 starting position.
