Oh good grief yes, although Doug needed little encouragement to hate the Gators. We were both from Jacksonville which is the heart of Gator country. Coach Ski had a saying with some rather salty words added about knocking the Gators up in the nickle stands. Hank Stram was one of Doug's coaches and he liked him real well, but expressed disappointment that he wasn't a rabid Gator Hater like Coach Ski.

Every now & again an interesting memory pops up such as when Coach Whitey Campbell ran off to Vegas with a coed & became a dealer @ one of the casinos, but don't know if that was true or not?? And, the time 1/2 the team was taken to jail for underage drinking at the Black Cat which I think was located somewhere around Red Rd. & 8th (the trail). There was also a pantie raid on the coed dorms on campus.

Do any of you oldtimers remember the sports writer for the Miami Herald who first name was Jack and who only had one arm?????

1981 - I was in attendance. Kelly goes down with an injury and the backup QB happened to be Mark Richt. Canes come back from 14-3 and Danny Miller kicks a 55 yard fg to win 21-20. Gator fans were stunned. It was glorious.

1984- Canes have to play the Gators just 5 days after the kickoff classic. It's Jimmy's first year as UM-HC. Another UM comeback. UF goes up 20-19 with 41 ticks left. Kosar marches the offense down field and score a TD with 6 seconds left. If that's not good enough on the last play of the game Canes come up with a pick six.

2 games that just devastated the Gators, it doesn't get better than that.

Taint screwed us out of a NC , they are # 1 hated on my list yesterday,today and tomorrow

Walt Kichefsky (sp?) never said gatorS, it was always the gator.

I understand why people hate Taint, but Florida fans are literally insufferable and they actually poach our recruits. Over the past 30 years or so we have battled UF for recruits a lot more than Taint. If UF didn't take a lot of those recruits we would have won even more NCs.

I feel ya but for me fvvk anybody that played for or roots for Taint, I could gauge my eyes out anytime I see Herbstreit or Galloway on my Tv second would be tha lamers then we can talk gaytors, but we all have our opions!!!

Yup every time I hear the name Terry I go into o frenzy what a **** sham one of the greatest teams in history was screwed by that blinded cheating scumbag. Fvvk anyone that calls tainted tha 02 NC our boys sweat blood and tears for that and were robbed

I lost my mind in the swamp on that pick 6. He ran towards me on the other side of the lower endzone. That was the dagger and everyone knew it. What an experience.
