More conference musical chairs?

Why?

who do you think is going to treat a .500 P5 football team better than the ACC?

And what has the ACC done to Miami that was so bad?
They have actually been half-assed reasonable. They could say that we were brought in to compete for championships and demand we spend more on football, hire better coaching, etc. Instead they don't seem to care as long as they get that South Florida Television market, and the administration don't care about winning championships as long as they get that Welfare check.
It's a match made in heaven.

The ACC would love nothing more than Miami and FSU to return to their former glory. Duke, BC, Syracuse, Pittsbugh, NC State, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and UNC will never win anything, and Tobacco Road knows it.

They dreamed of Miami-FSU ACC title games, with both teams were Top 5-10 teams. Clemson is the ACCs Alabama but the conference needs FSU and the Canes to elevate their programs and the conference. Unfortunately administrations of both schools **** the bed for the last 15 years, save FSUs two years and NC with Jameis.

JMO.

That is straight unprovable supposition. In fact, if anything, the opposite can be proven, since Miami and FSU have regularly finished near the top of the conference in penalties every year for the past 15 years.

Which, considering numerous coaching changes and a constant change of personal, is what in statistics is called an outlier.

In other words, one can make the case based on that that the ACC DOESN'T want to see Miami succeed...

Im old-school, I want Miami back as an independent...

Independent in Football, Big East in other sports... negotiate our own TV deal with Fox Sports for football....

Being on FS1 for football would sure beat ACC Network...although I'd miss all the impulse buying from the infomercials.

Too bad the athletic department would never leave the financial safety net of the crooked ACC conference. Guess the upside down 'U' crotch slams are alright as long as it comes with a nice check every year.

If you accept there is a conspiracy against FSU and Miami, sure. Believe. Or chalk that stat up to two consistently undisciplined, poorly coached teams. Good to great teams usually aren’t penalized as much as bad teams.

When Miami joined the ACC, June 2003, Miami was a Top 5 team. Miami finished 2nd, 1st, 2nd, and 5th in 2000-03. FSU had faltered somewhat, finishing 4th, 15th, 23rd, and 10th those same seasons, but was ACC Champion 2000, 2002-03. Miami was elite. FSU had been as recent as a few seasons prior.

Ask youself, why would the ACC accept Miami as a member and then not want them to succeed? Or using your argument, actively work against Miami succeeding? The only two football programs with any national recognition were the Canes and the Noles. An ACC Championship Game between two Top 10, maybe Top 5 programs with 20+ year rivalry, games often determining the eventual NC, sells a lot better than GaTech vs UNC.

If you accept that ACC is primarily interested in making money, than u have to accept that they want a dominant Miami .

That ship has sailed. And sunk.

So because we’ve had u disciplined teams that is your “proof” the ACC doesn’t want Miami to be elite?

Their history of ******** us with officiating when ANYTHING of substance is on the line says otherwise. We were brought in to be their Washington Generals. Remember the year we had no holding calls against opposing OLs? Yeah, I'm sure that was just a coincidence.

We're stuck in the ACC for another 15 years as we signed off all our media rights to the conference. If we leave, they still get all the money until then (goes for all the other ACC schools too).
