Monday Recruiting Chatter - 12/17

Brownlee telegraphed it the day he committed. Word is they brought him a few times to reaffirm that commitment. Yet they still didn’t recruit his spot.

Tarquin spent 3 straight weeks on UV at turdsville before taking a break to OV with us before heading right back to OV with them. He took Kingsley on his last UV to turdsville, before coming with him on his OV here then circling back and honeymooning together on their OV to turdsville. This is the same Kingsley that earlier had been on flip watch to Auburn.

Solomon apparently spoke to the staff a few weeks ago and told them he was wavering. Allegedly they even understood the reason he might flip to Michigan. Yet their plan was to just hope for the best.

At the very least they should have had backup plans for Brownlee, Kingsley and Tarquin months ago. This is like finding the Tinder app on your girls phone and waiting until she fvcks someone before leaving her. This isn’t rocket science.

And it’s not limited to this year. It’s not a new development. We have been getting “surprised” when everyone knew for three years !!!!
Yet we don’t adjust.

Georgia was the 1 seed last year cmr was never 1

That’s why if the playoffs existed cmr would have gotten in does not hold weight bc Kirby finished the reg season #1 something cmr never did

Ok but finishing reg season #1 isn’t any big deal to me. Also i thought Bama was #1 last year

Just alarming

So we have 14 commits so far. We need to get to 85 scholarships somehow some way. Need transfers or something but theres no way we can realistically expect 25 kids to come on board can we? Do you guys expect to get close to that number?
Its the richt-imposed scholarship sanction

Baga will slide in with a late grayshirt offer, and Trollgle will jump on it.

For some reason I don't give a crap about a couple of 3 star recruits not from real positions of need, Majority of these recruits who play these recruiting games either flop out or transfer. This is there 1 chance to be relevant by next time next year we will have forgotten who they were , in 3 years we will bringing them up as flops and how this recurs all the time.

Where is this rumor about Payton coming from? Anything to this?
Dude, no...just making fun of QP for his hot takes and fabricated stories...that's why I threw in the bun-less sandwich portion. Folks on here just trying to stir the pot.

We haven't been at 85 scholarships in over a decade. LOL at anyone thinking that will change anytime soon.

If we start pressing for WR's after Wed. then it's clear as day that JH ain't comin. Sigh...

Not really...We are recruiting the same 4 WR for a month now. We will take at least 3, and maybe 4. (Not sure if Jones is in no matter what, or if he is contingent on one of Dunmore/Haselwood not coming)

Fantastic analogy

You completely missed the point of the post. I will give you the benefit of the doubt, assume you didn’t read the post I was commenting on and summarize it for you. The point of the post is not about the talent or lack thereof of those decommits, although it’s ironic that the majority of posters were not complaining about them when they were committed and had us in the top 15. I would also argue that all 4 of them are in dire positions of need, particularly the OL.

Nor was the post about what games they play or what their future holds. The point of the post was that the staff had ample warning with ALL of them that there was an extreme likelihood they would decommit and they choose not to plan accordingly. Instead they waited for the player to decommit before scrambling for backup plans. It’s poor planning and mismanagement by the staff, regardless of how we now feel about those players.

These clowns on here are actually breaking down highlights of a 240 pound 2 star Group of 5 project and trying to tell us how well he moves. He fcking goddam well should move well at the size of a WR.

Bro; like I get it...ride or die w the team, but got ****, these mofos are going way overboard! Actually read some posters justifying the take and saying keep em coming! Keep what coming??! LOL!

It’s wild b/c some talk about ‘just wait until Richt gets his players’ (which is bull chit b/c the further we get away from Golden’s players, the worst we’ve become)...but that’s whatever; are we now saying the more 3 & 2 stars we get, the better we’ll be?? Lol!

Upside down world for real. Only at Miami guys say get Tarquin outta here, we got Zion instead! Lol!!!!

Sorry to tell you but we hit the iceberg and the ship already sank....that hope we are all holding on too is a trapped air bubble that keeping us alive on our way to the bottom.

Is that what I feel? That air bubble slowly seeping away. Lol.

Why conduct a search if you think you've got as good a solution right there?

Time will tell if it was a good move or bad move.

I think it makes a lot of sense.

I agree that time will tell if it was a good or bad move, but it was Richt who said on that Thursday afternoon they were hiring a firm to conduct a search. He made the announcement of their promotions on Friday evening after a run of decommitments. It may have nothing to do with salvaging the class but if Richt really thought they were the best solution the promotions would have been announced with the announcement of Manny leaving, not 48 hours after the news of Manny leaving broke.
