We should just create one that goes across college football after a loss, or in our case a win.

Add @WhatTheHell back tho. His personal insults are actually funny and not the general dreck like “u r ****** and I banged ur mom” that the left side of the bell curve posters generally result to.

Its warranted at this point. It shouldn't be allowed to pervade every thread though when other discussions are trying to be had.
 
The problem here isn’t a mopers vs slurpers thing. It’s largely a high football iq vs low football iq problem…. And that’s not meant to insult anyone.

With a couple of notable exceptions, the “manny will be fine” crowd just wants to enjoy a football game. They’re not looking at schematics or player development etc.

The “manny is incompetent” crowd IS looking at schematics, development etc, and so they’re going to have a different take on the games and the program.

So with all that being the case, anybody who gets upset reading about our coaching deficiencies should just find a new forum geared towards less sophisticated fans.

Haven’t seen a single poster say everything’s gonna be fine since snap one of the Bama game.
 
I posted this in the Band Bet thread. There is a difference between “talkin bout facts“ and a significant amount of the discussion that goes on here, and it isn’t because of “low football IQ posters”.

I have no reason to think any of the posters I disagree with aren’t wonderful people. It’s a college football forum, on the internet, after 18 months of the world losing its collective mind. It’s all too easy to look like a fool and very hard to behave wisely. I’m the chief of sinners in this regard, constantly removing doubt.

That said the board is absolutely terrible right now, made worse by some truly unserious opinions. Miami lost to FIU, I get it. La Tech, too. Manny sucks, Blake James sucks, the program is in a state of prolonged atrophy and suicidal decay. I know, we've all been saying it for 15 years. I can acknowledge these things and not say Blake James should be hit by a truck, his wife pegs him (didn’t even know what that meant until CIS), half our team should be in the portal, or that losing to an FCS school is more defensible than what Diaz has done thus far. I don’t spam every thread with the same stale can of graffiti, regardless of its original subject, in hopes that my effort will drag the program down further, or revel in the misery with a parade of celebratory posts. Maybe I’m getting old, but I fundamentally do not understand a significant amount of posters on this site anymore. Every day is a race to the bottom.

I used to believe that if Miami ever got back to the top, college football would hate us more than ever because we were “born in the darkness” of self-hatred after decades of futility. We beat ourselves up more than anyone else ever could, with more surgically-guided strikes than any other fan base could dream of launching. We would be merciless to other schools, turning every attack on them that we’d perfected on ourselves. We hate Miami more than we would ever be hated, I told myself, and back then I admired us for it. Now I’m much closer to giving up the team entirely than I am waiting for us to be watchable, let alone good. But it isn’t just because the program has become a bad comic with a yearly, 12-stop tour, it’s because the fans are as equally unserious, unfunny, and a waste of time to engage with.

If Miami loses to FSU I’ll happily disappear for good. The band bet will just be a bonus.

TL;dr - The state of the program and the fan base is nothing new, in fact it’s finally N’SYNC.

In case anyone was wondering who the “notable exception” to the low football IQ statement was, here u go.

To your point tho…We’ve got those who seem to suggest a simple HC change will put us in position to beat Alabama, and others who are forever content believing all that’s missing is next years recruiting class (or something along those lines). I think “everything’s gonna be fine” was just the most succinct way to sum up that sentiment… that things will work themselves out.

Good points actually. My “football IQ” post was meant to address why we see such divergent POV here, and not the psychological toll of reading ridiculous, eye roll inducing hot takes…..over snd over and over.

There is a population here that believes they'll be able to motivate someone in a position of power to fire people, if only they can spam enough threads. Theres not much we can do about irrational people with access to a free, anonymous website. Put em on ignore and move on. No need to give them power by allowing them to **** us off.
