Remember the slurper crew that jumped me for saying we had to stay healthy to hit 9-10 games? I said it then and I’ll say it again “we’re very thin and lack depth / talent”. Anyone that thinks otherwise is delusional.

I’m surprised they jumped on you haha they typically come after me cause they just can’t face reality of where the program is. It’s in a better spot but a long way to go.

Hopefully Mario and staff can navigate the season and win the coastal. Until that’s off the table everyone just needs to calm down and enjoy the ride……except in the game day thread when we bash Gattis for 1 half of football being played 🤣🤣

This team several recruiting classes away still. That is reality

Yup 2-3 and some good transfers but it can be done and that’s why ppl need to chill. Publicly slamming coaches and crying after two weeks or even a loss saturday does the program no good long term. Got to give Mario some time but Miami fans aren’t rational

But someone started a thread after beating the mighty BCU and said he didn’t see any scenario we didn’t win 11 games or some ****.

Ppl don’t realize this squad is thin. Winning the coastal and winning 9 games would be a HUGE accomplishment for this team and staff in year 1.
I'm not really buying the low sell. Were we loaded last year? No. We were down to only 2 RB in Rooster and Thad most of the season.

We are or should be improved in every area except maybe WR. We should see improvement and greater depth on the offensive and defensive lines. Many now have another year of experience under their belt.

The biggest factors are new coaches and new schemes. How quickly do our guys grasp the schemes where they can play at a high level.

Couple the experience and depth against a weaker Coastal division.

I'm done with the Diaz era of barely beating weaker teams with superior talent and losing to even or lesser talented teams.

The expectation is to not only beat the teams where we have a talent advantage over, but to also win games against similarly skilled teams.

Saturday is a great opportunity to take that next step.

Completely disagree. The Portal has changed the game.
We were a couple classes away when Richt got hired, A&M were a couple classes away in 2018 with Jimbo, Nebraska was a couple classes away from Frost leading Nebraska to relevance and the list goes on and on forever.

No sane fan expects us to compete with OSU, Bama, Georgia & even Clemson to much lesser extent..

Outside of that, what are we "a couple of classes away from" exactly? It's such a toxic, loser way to think. We for sure have some holes, but it's still a vastly more talented roster than probably 50 other power 5 teams

This is the game the three true sophs shine. When George catches what would have been a pass to Restrepo, TVD hits him in stride and he takes it to the houssssssssse.

Football always has a way of exposing your weakest link. Maybe it will be good for the future but for now, it’s going to cost us some games. Worst news possible

/Staff failed on bringing in veteran WR transfers. Ouch.

When King went down last year, I was tempted to give up on the season. It gave others a chance to rise up, though. I stand with the hopeful crowd that others will rise up this season.

Guys act like 9-10 wins is unaccaptable. We've had 1 10-win season in over 15 years, 1 or 2 9-win seasons. Mario does this in year 1 and he'll be fine.

Yes, I want to win it all now, and there's an extremely narrow path for us to beat A&M and Clemson, along with all our other opponents. But to expect it with our current talent and depth of talent is just idiocy.

Maybe people forget that Manny left this team nearly depleted at every position on the defensive side outside of S? On the offensive side of the ball, we were slightly better off. But our OL and WR groups were super thin with major holes. And our 2 best RBs are constantly injured.

We were on a path to a 5-7/6-6 year without the portal transfers, many of whom came explicitly to play for Mario and his staff: Parrish, Messidor, Jackson, and Agude, in particular, have entirely changed the talent level of our roster, with guys like Lichtenstein and Moultrie adding desperately needed depth.

if it's allowed by the NCAA/Conference, I would announce multiple key positions "out for game" every week.. so no team can totally plan around specific players. then poofff.. they are all starting.
