I think this could could give us quality play at RB, Slot and KR. He is small but runs tough and is elusive. We have had quality backs who happened to be small like Leonard Conley. In my opinion, he is very comparable to Isaiah McKenzie. He may not be as fast or electric but he is a better inside runner and the kid has good balance and footwork. Look at what he does to a poor DB at the 3:30 mark.

Who is he gonna play ahead of?
Gus?
Yearby?
Walton?
Berrios?
Lewis?

Cmon man. Why do preferred walk ons always excite some people?

I remember when deandre Johnson had people excited.

How bout The kid who was kicking 70 yard feels goals on you tube was suddenly going to be The next Carlos Huerta.

There's more I just can't remember. Probably cause they were preferred walk ons.

No offense but really?

Yeah, UM will probably never have a walk on take a meaningful carry in a game.

Darris Hughes was a great example of that. He's a **** of a strip club promoter, but there was no way in **** he was going to take snaps at RB lol

OP good find.. I like his wiggle.. and the 2nd poster take your pessimistic *** to a local watering hole and don't come out until you get alcohol poisoning.

Deandre Johnson didn't get me excited. He had average tape. I am not sure why he came here and not to a place like Kansas that has a natural affinity for small backs. In my post, I said he could give us quality minutes. I didn't say he would start. Based on his film, I could see him breaking some ankles in scrimmages enough to earn some playing time. Also consider, he comes from Gulliver which is a school we are trying to recruit and Baez his former coach is on the staff. This is not a coincidence. In any event, I was looking for comments on his tape. He talent is comparable to Mckenzie IMO and UGA found a way to use him in spite of their stable of backs and athletes.

Maybe it is the memory of Albert Bentley. He did okay.

You're right. He's an Isaiah Mckenzie clone without the speed, change of direction, quickness or playmaking ability.

We looking at the same highlights, The Franchise? Pause the tape at 3:30 and tell that DB the kid doesn't have quickness or change of direction. He is a better inside runner than McKenzie for sure. He just doesn't run around like McKenzie did in high school.

I actually think this kid will be a contributer one day, possibly in the return game. Kid is quick and has great wiggle, not super explosive.

Agree that he is not super explosive but he could go to a place like KSU that likes small backs and compete. The point is, this kid is a quality athlete who is walking on. I think heis one of the few walk-on that can contribute at some point at some position.

Would like the pick up as a walk on, not only would Davis have something to prove but he will also go all out against the starters in practice which only makes us better. Never sleep on a walk on's connections to other south florida athletes as well, just cause he's a walk on does not mean he can't recruit others athletes for us, these days kids regardless of the school or division they attend respect other kids talent and personality.

Why didn't he go to KSU? Did he have an offer from there? What major offers did he turn down to walk on here?

Bentley? My memory is a bit fuzzy but wasn't that over a quarter century ago?

No offense to the OP but please...unless all of our running backs KR's and slot WR's transfer to FIU, this guy won't ever see a meaningful down here.

We need a new type of Player category for the board. We have the greentree all Americans and now we need one for walk ons.

Suggestions?

So basically not a clone?

He's one of those clones who is completely different from the guy he's a clone of.
