What scheme would you need to gain a half yard on 4th down? Sorry but if your third string can’t get enough push to get a half yard then they don’t belong on this team.
Find a 5’11” 250lb ****ed off halfback, run him up the middle. Our rbs are too light in the britches. And our offensive line stands up to run block.

For years fans have screamed if we can only get Mirabel here, he’s here now and people want someone else after 7 games and a known weakness on team. All we did was fill backup roles through portal at OL also
Yeah, he had a maybe couple of pieces to work with in Zion and Rivers - and the injuries took care of that. He actually is one who deserves the time to recruit and develop.

The only ones worth anything with a shot at the next level is Campbell, Rivers, and Clark. We need this big o-line class for 2023 at least one or two of them could be starting next year along with Anez

Interesting that Nelson is in a money year and is apparently benching himself
If true, why not kick him off the team? Why would you seemingly allow and condone this?

You want to bench yourself for the draft? ok cool, go train on your own and take your me-above-team attitude elsewhere

Has to be more to the story...?

He is NOT, nor was he ever anything more than an average coach. The man was the OL coach at Marshall for 5 years before his best friend gave him the opportunity of a lifetime when he was hired as the HC at Oregon.

Mirabal was never and will never be an OL coach who is hired by any decent program. He is riding his best friends coattalis. He would be one of the many coaches who after being fired at UM you either neve hear from again or ends up at an FCS or low level FBS school.

Lmao the dude is one of the best OL coaches in the country and he comes in and has worked with a OL who has been crappy the past 5 years and he’s the problem. LMAO, some of you posters on here.
wait how true is this? he didnt get his real p5 shot until Mario hired him at Oregon. since then Mario took him everywhere.

Same fan base that took massive **** on Jeff Stoutland while he was here.
stoutland had two p5 gigs before he got to miami.

mirabal was a g5 for lifer until Mario got the job at Oregon.

Im not saying hes bad and the OL is his fault (theyre hurt)

Mirabal is responsible for 5 starting positions, any of which can bring down the play of the other 4. Its not like these guys were world beaters last year. EVERYONE looked better in the spread, including them. Still..

His top player appears to be saving himself for the draft at this point and hasn't played a single snap.
Yesterday he was forced to play his starting center's backup's backup.
Scaife is an Ivey at this point, fooling multiple coaching into getting snaps.
And Campbell.. What evidence did we have that Campbell was good other than the preseason sunshine pumping on here? Him playing last year doesn't guarantee that he had room improve.
Playing Oluwaseun is indefensible. Makes you why nobody else took his snaps. Until somebody else DID take his snaps once he got hurt, and looked equally as ******.

I hear u as far as guys not improving. But then.. would we even notice if Campbell or Rivers improved, if everyone around them are terrible?

I still think a lot of it is the system. If we can agree that the system affects the QB, WRs and RBs, its reasonable to say the same is true for the O-Line too.
Actually, Jakai replaced Denis at center, from what I saw.

It’s interesting. He’s running the weakest squad on the team but I rarely hear him criticized on the board.

I’m not out to demonize him at all. He seems like a good guy. And he’s been hit with injuries. And the offensive scheme is questionable.

But who has he improved? Rivers, Clark, Campbell, Denis, etc?

We still can’t get a push inside. We gained under 2 yards per run against Duke. Our QBs were under constant pressure and TVD was knocked out of the game.
When everything and everyone sucks its kind of hard to focus on anyone. Although Gattis has been the mane scapegoat amongst CIS. Mirabal inherited a pretty shít group some people were naive enough to think new coaches would erase years of game tape.

OL is not only finding the best 5 players, but the best 5 players who work best as a unit. Right now the OL room has too little talent and looks like a M*A*S*H unit.

The ONLY runs up the middle that worked before this stupid 4th down was from the wildcat with Jacurri Brown otherwise stupid call. I wonder sometimes why we don't go for the big play with the defense bunched in, the great Packers teams and Bart Star used to do that on many short yardage situations, if you are going for it on 4th down why not try something bold instead of what the other team expects. I knew we would not make it when we lined up, painful to watch when even the vendors know the play call.
