Million dollar Question....

Who else you think we will lose to? I'm curious.

Real possibilities based on the following premises...

1) Defense has regressed, bc Baker & coaching (it matters) and loss of all our real talent - SR, MJ, JJ, GW, etc.
- disappointing, but not a huge surprise to anyone open to objective analysis

2) ST - disaster, prolly not going to stabilize much more this year. Coaching matters.

3) Offense - JDub and Penos better than Malik & Jon Jr., but looks like several games where whoever has ball last wins (LBW), see points 1,2.
- subject to significant improvement, but assuming it will just be so is not smart. Cautious optimism.

4) Right now, all p5 teams should be tossups, given our self inflicted and recent history

Ok. Case sensitive punctuation on outcomes

BCU - w
CMU - w - ugly? see point 1.

Big whoop; little w's

Injuries?

Okay, 2-2;

VT - Tossup - See UNC, all the talk of how "trash" they are is stupid; it's not 2018 - see point 3 (LBW); cross ref. points 1,2; Point 4;

UVA - L - Bronco is a better coach than Mandy and has almost equal talent; see points 1,2;

GT - Tossup - Lose to either VT and/or UVA and the wheels are startin to come off in the locker room...see Point 4;

Decommits start in earnest if we go 1-2 here

@Pitt
- Tossup - losses to either VT and/or UVA...see point 4;

@FSU - L - calling it a L at this point, bc baxa. lol - away game,

Banners, lol.

UL
- tossup - all the talk of how "trash" they are is stupid - see UNC, it's not 2018; see points 1,2,4 - we've lost a few more and ....

@FIU - ugly w

@Duke - L - away, well coached, we're beaten dogs at this point.

Mandy Sholden has a crootin problem for next year.

LOOOOOOng Offseason.

It's not 2018, but it could look a lot like it if Baker keeps the 4:17 trend going.

BUT, yes, we could start to gel and have no injuries and make a run too....

If so,

Kindly remind me to eat a bag if we go on the run and I act like I never said any of this, but I won't be shocked if some slight variation of this happens....

AND, not eating said bag until after we at least get through PITT and look good doing it, not the 17 BS we lucked into.

Agreed.
The question should be : When will we put a complete game together, and if we do will it be too late, or is there a chance in the Coastal, with a few lucky losses of other teams.?
So when unc plays wake that’s not a conference game? Read that somewhere.

Fine then. 6-6 is in play, perhaps worse, ffs Miami just lost to UNC... they could lose to anyone left, anyone. They could lose to C. Michigan right now, **** Bethune isnt even a guarantee.

I hope not bro! Goodness, gracious I hope not.

That's like being in a long term relationship with old fine dyme piece who had lost herself through the years. lol (Like What happen?) Staying committed but now not really into it. lol haha

I was hoping to come back from commercial break to a fumble recovered by Miami. After 4th and 17, they were going to score. But again we had the ball with time to win....both games.
That's what keeps killing me. We went up in the 4th quarter in both games. Just to give up a score right after. That isn't four fingers in the area tradition. If the current team wants to be considered a Cane team? That's unacceptable. Either the coaches or the players have to realize that.

If they took your advice and just killed themselves, it might help the rest of us that actually give a sh*t.

Let me say this.

Manny was a huge risk as a hire. Honestly I dont even blame him, I blame Miami's administration & especially Blake James who hired his buddy Manny without even evaluating other candidates. We should have hired a head coach with experience, that was able to bring in top notch coordinators and position coaches, heavily focusing on SEC experience. Manny should have been left at Temple to cut his teeth. I had very little hope for this season to begin with. I never thought we'd beat Florida, and I cant say I'm shocked we lost to UNC.

In my opinion, the only silver lining here is the embarrassment and shame this staff and these players must feel, and the heat that Miami fans are putting on them so soon, just might make Manny grow into a formidable coach. Miami administration thinks they can skate along hiring friends & family in perpetuity and the gullible fans eat it up every time. I'm much less concerned with the W/L record this year... because 5 wins or 7 wins does nothing for me. The only thing that matters is Manny's decision making. Will he make the hard decisions like firing coaches that dont get results (Patke), or will he stick with his guys and over-promote them like he did with Patke. I never expected him to get his staff right the 1st time, but when chances at good coaches arise, I want to see him cut the losers, that will tell me what he sees and what his ambitions are going forward.

Your premise has holes in it...
Teams improve as the season progress, and one cannot work on this premise after 2 games that could have been won by less than 7 points in each game.
One or two field goals, , or a touchdown, could have been W's, and your premise would have been blown to ****....
Just sayin'..............

Good teams don’t lose to bad teams and go very far. Upsets happen we are 15 years of this. We are no better than anyone else in the coastal. Simple reality- oh yeah....not an fn troll because I don’t blindly wear orange and green glasses.

I'll say 8-4. That's the general level of our program, as I've posted for years. I prefer to keep that level in mind and assume the bottom line will end up there or thereabouts, as opposed to subjectively nitpicking our roster and our schedule.

It's like the Dolphins during the Tannehill years. No reason to overreact in either direction to one or two games. It's going to end up at mediocre. The Canes are like an ACC Coastal version of Ryan Tannehill.

Oh, I don't diazagree with that development factor.

My premises are as much garbage as the self inflicted wounds we are going through, though too. We coulda and shoulda been 2-0. cuts both ways, so this just an exercise.

What's Predictable is preventable, lol.

Was just playing mopers' advocate.. in a 'chicken little is quite earnest' way.

Like I said, we can get a run going here and I will eat that whole bag o wangs. looking forward to it.

I ain't stoked that the expected slight regression on the defense isn't maybe so slight.

I ain't stoked that all the winning the off-season bluster went boom in Mandy's face so far.

I drank it. I want to beeleeeeeve.

I'm also a battered assed ***** and seen a whole lotta regimes and players go through the same routine.

POint being - it's all a tossup at the p5 level rn, bc remember, the other teams have their own say, progression or regression too.

There was Absolutely NO Due Diligence on UMs part whatsoever....Comical...but the norm....

Seems like a somewhat similar pattern over the last several years.
1. From January through July we are undefeated national champions going 12-0. Our defense is ferocious and always better than the year before, despite losing key players. Our offenses is unstoppable and will create mismatches all over the field. But then .....
2. We actually play other teams and eventually lose a game, but we’re still playoff bound. (And we’ll get revenge against that team in a bowl game).
3. Then we lose another game but we can still be ACC champs and are a lot better prepared to handle Clemson (whether it was the shutout under Golden or the 50 something to 3 game under Richt).
4. We lose another game but still control our destiny in the Coastal.
5. Then we lose again and hope that other teams lose so we can win the Coastal.
6. We then try to close out the season with a winning record and hope to play in a major bowl game.
In some of those past years we would win a bunch of games early on and then lose a bunch; that’s actually more frustrating to me than what’s happening now.
Regardless, I’m hoping the above doesn’t repeat itself this year.
We will feel much better after beating Bethune Cookman and Central Michigan, but the true test of how we have progressed will come after that.
