Random KJ jab. Thought he was one of our better players last night myself.

Pinck made plays. Shaq not so much. One played summed it up for me... guy running wide trying to get around the edge (I think it was perkins) and shaq noticing where the sticks are, adjusts his angle a bit deeper but as they progress to the sideline, shaq doesnt get there, at all. Just looked slow as sh-t on that play. Thats a problem from your Mike.

I literally said KJ's not the problem.

Pickney had 2 solo tackles and dropped a sure int. If that’s your def of amazing I cant help you. Our lb Corp has been a disappointment this year. ESP in pass coverage
So he dropped an interception, that makes it a bad play? Regardless of he dropped it or not he made a play and did not allow the WR to catch the ball and again who gives a **** about this solo tackle **** he did not miss one tackle all game

A
Looks like I have to school you, who gives a **** if it was solo tackle or not, he did not miss one tackle all game, had 1 tacked for loss and sack, 2 PBU, and was good to great pressuring the qb when blitzing
real dominating performance. What was uva on 3rd down conversions? I guess I’m officially schooled. Lb play all the way around has been poor.

These threads attacking players are getting ridiculous.

pinckney was all over the field. Osborn isn't nearly a negative. Shaq steal your woman???

Show me live examples of dominating college LBers.

Perry is either throwing the ball too early or slinging it too hard. Not sure which but at least two of those passes we're not on the receiver.

Sorry, Pink was all over the place last night. Played his butt off. This is what the O-line and Running backs see when shaq is heading towards them.

I find it hard to believe Shaq is really any better than giving Brooks playing time at this point.

Pinck is playing fine. Nothing elite, but he's around the ball impacting plays a decent amount.
So brooks is a better choice rn then Shaq..jeezus

Bro..Perkins is a great athlete..you can’t expect a 240 lb MLB to chase down and cut off a angle on a kid like Perkins..and I know the exact play u are talking about. More time then not shaq is making plays hash to boundary or hash to numbers..but no MLB should be expected to make plays on WRs, RBs or athletes at QB like Perkins in the open field, but more times then not shaq does make open field plays in space one v one

Fair enough, that's valid. I guess my point was less 'blame on Shaq' and more along the lines of that's just who he is. He is a lumbering Mike. Good in his own ways, but that play in particular really highlighted his lack of speed and ability to get side to side. An LB like Sam Brooks, probably chooses a tighter angle from the beginning and either way probably gets there to shove him out before he made the sticks.

But I don't know why I'm posting this. I'm not on the "Bash Shaq"-train, at all. I absolutely love that kid. I just had insanely high expectations for Shaq and Pinck this year, so I judge them different. Shaq is a **** good football player, and seems to be an even better person. He's also 100% given his all every single game for 4 years, which means I'm sure it's the same at every practice and every time in the weight room. You want players like Shaq on your team. He's one of my favorite Canes on this roster. I guess I judge him a bit harshly because I didn't expect him to be a good football player, I expected him to be a great one.

Fair, I think shaq has a future on sundays also. Too me he is steady as a rock. He’s not a super athlete that flashes but know were to get and gets there..but if you just watch him play in and play out he takes on blocks, sheds blocks, blitzes pretty well and is serviceable in coverage..now a kid like brooks who is a better athlete you have to ask, would take on the blocks like shaq does, can he make the call and checks, could he limit mistakes? Clearly at this stage the likely answer is no..for whatever reason shaq gets bashed by some on CIS. I don’t get it.

For sure. It's easy to tout a young guy. Shaq's busted his *** for four seasons.
