Mike Leach......LMAO

I'd worry about that with our recruits who are a majority African American. Maybe they wouldn't care if he's a winner??? I dont know... I'm not AA so I cant speak to that. I can only speculate as to how that would impact me as a parent of a recruit were I in that situation. I just think a coach should stay out of things of that sort. Why go there?

Racism doesn't hurt SEC schools. I don't know Leach, but I suspect he isn't a racist but just doesn't like Obama. People have many, many reasons to dislike the former Prez for reasons unrelated to race (not going down a political rabbit hole ).

I agree about people having legit reasons to like or dislike any President and about not going down the rabbit hole but Obama was symbolic to a number of people starting with race and being the first AA in the office. It can't be helpful to clown him.

Anyhow, I understand where you are coming from and yeah... Racism doesn't seem to prevent kids from going to certain places.

The Pirate would have us in a better position right now on the field. There are a number of guys who would.

Players don't care a lot if an area has a lot of racists...fact is racism isn't limited to the South.

But most do care if a coach is

Another fact is racism seems to be selective. A while ago as I was gassing up in a small town in Georgia I overheard a conversation where the "N" word was repeatedly used as they were discussing life and their beloved Dawg's.

One said he wished Herschel Walker had gone up North or out West. Almost instantly the other three men jumped up in horror and shock, as if he had committed blasphemy. They ALL angrily berated him, questioned his IQ, birth legitimacy, and sexual preferences. How dare him say something bad about Herschel ...unless he fumbled

I've seen somewhat the same when a Black Bama or LSU player would be seen in public. The same people who I've interacted with before and acted as if they wouldn't give another Black person the time of day, fell all over themselves being inviting and pleasant.

According to this article, they dont. Seattle Times is about as left leaning as newspapers can go, so I think if there had been even the thinnest connection to recruits avoiding Leach due to Trump support, the newspaper would have made it.

I think it's incredibly patronizing and insulting to African Americans to insinuate that they are such simple minded people that they can't tell the difference between a coach being Anti-Obama and a coach that is actually a racist. I respect their intelligence a **** of a lot more than that, which the article also supports. Most recruits are sophisticated enough to know that they are committing to a school, not a head coach since there is a good chance that the HC isn't going to be there at the end of their college career.

I agree that it would be .....IF that actually was said.

Also, reread what I wrote...never said Leach was a racist so I hope you're not implying that I did.

I did say that most Black recruits would care if a coach was racist and that is an undeniable fact

Fair enough. Long story short, I don't think recruits feel Leach is racist just because of being anti-Obama. Sending out stupid and ill advised tweets creates a headache for the school since the liberal media will be all over it and try to get a good 3 straight days of coverage, but in reality it affects nothing- no drop in donations or change in recruiting (no conjecture, people have looked into these questions before). Winning is what matters, and this year at least, Leach is killing Rick in that department.

No one cares if the guy mocked Obama. Black inner city recruits don't like the fact that he is friends with Donald Trump. Go walk around in the hood with a MAGA hat on.

Also, the paper being left leaning doesn't give them any additional insight in the mind of a young black man in the inner city. If Leach was going after transgender libs in San Francisco I would take this mans opinion. This writer has probably never stepped foot in a project building and has no idea what would affect recruiting kids in those areas.

LMAO brother... we still thinking MAGA hats are cool in the hood... wager time dude... I'll send you my Square Cash info for the deposit.

If a legitimately awful person like Urban Meyer can get kids to play for him, so could Leach. That ish he tweeted, however stupid you think it is, is irrelevant in the grand scheme. If hes winning and putting kids in the league, kids will wanna play for him and fans will be happy hes their coach.

Any two people can have many things that they can agree upon. Regardless of their beliefs

I try my best to avoid discussing politics, religion, and personal information or someone's beliefs

BUT Love a good discussion with anyone who is not thin-skinned

As for the rest of your post....I take it as your opinions, you can believe whatever you wish

That being said, Suffice it to say that I give a lot more credence to actual facts and don't think that facts change for personal, or political purposes regardless of how its spun.... there are numerous non-political sources out there for/with the actual facts ....I never take the opinions of others as fact until I look it up for myself

Check it out his offense has always lit up the scoreboard .before you react search out a matter you wouldn't look so foolish.I didn't say he was the greatest but finding a qb to run his offense wasn't a problem for him.if I'm not mistaken he took us down a few years ago and we had the better team.
