Recent Twitter follows. Both Baez and Diaz recently started following Ed Reed and Ed reed started following Mark Richt. Could be nothing just passing on the Twitter follows

I prefer not to take superstar NFL players as coaches, as they rely more on athleticism and less on fundamentals. But Reed was excellent at both and was a total ball hawk as a safety. I'd be okay with it, but would go in with a mindset that he's a significant coach in the defensive cog given what Diaz runs as his system. I'd have my reservations. But I'm sure recruiting would soar with him.

he has a ton of intangibles that can't be taught though. guy was a film junkie, but his instincts are made him truly great. he readily admits that his game wasn't based on athleticism and that there are guys out there that are much stronger and faster than he was. the man was just born to play the position.

Ed Reed was a coach on the field during his time as a Cane and in the NFL. If you have any doubts about his football IQ or his abilities to diagnose plays and understand formations, listen to what coach Belichick said about him. It was in a TV segment on Ed Reed that I saw most probably on ESPN. Can't remember what program it was.
