Michigan

Im positive they slid them some money to say yeah they’re right. They made the correct call. Plus they don’t wanna ruin this relationship because playing big schools helps fund a lot of things.
That is why I would tell any football recruits who ask my opinion about playing at a MAC school or a top FCS program, to take the FCS offer despite a possible $$$. One, they couldn’t be at a school like NDSU, moving up to the MWC, and most importantly, keep their dignity in some way, not be just a sparring partner.

These refs also royally f#cked Miami in favor of the B1G in the Ole Miss game. They aren't dumb, they knew Miami was going to be playing a B1G team in the championship. This is a very, very important reason why I'm not overly enthusiastic about joining the B1G. We're not going to get the calls when we're playing B1G royalty.

Big 12 refs called very fair games. Did we ever have SEC refs in the playoffs? I can't remember. To the ACC's credit, they actually called some holds on the Stanford OL so maybe the ACC finally got the memo about protecting its only good team.
ACC refs have improved under the new replay system the past few years. We don’t beat VT in 2024 without honest refs.

If we went to the Big 10, we would be screwed at home and away against OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin etc.

Thr SEC refs cheat, but generally to get the better record team into the playoffs. The SEC is all about the money, whereas the Big 10 is owned by OSU and Michigan.

Big Ten ****ed Miami last year & otherwise cheat to the bone for Michigan.

I can see why my alma mater Wisconsin gave up on football lol.

They'll never be the darling Michigan is.
Wisconsin will be better this year. Their new QB Joseph from Old Dominion could give ND problems today.

Why was there no pause in the game for the refs to review the time on the clock. It would have been worth 30 seconds. Western Michigan should have been adamant and demanding it.

I'm not saying they didn't get ****ed. I'm saying they should have made a bigger deal of it and not left it to chance on one last play

What?

The refs actually instructed the clock operator to put 9 seconds on the clock before the (second to) last play.

And WMU took timeouts before the (second to) last play and the (fake) last play.

I think Western Michigan just wants to move in so their program doesn’t become infected like FSU did after “the snub”. They have a really good chance at winning the MAC.

Let's clear up a few things.

First, the "official time" is kept by the refs, not by the stadium clock, and not by NBC. That much is true.

HOWEVER...right before the final play, the refs instructed the scoreboard operator to "put 9 seconds on the clock". So the only way that the clocks could be "un-synched" would be if the "official time" kept by the refs was at 9.6 seconds, and the scoreboard was at 9 seconds (since the scoreboard does not have tenths of seconds, as the NBA clocks do). Furthermore, WMU took a timeout prior to the play, so there was NO REASON, and no rush, that would cause various clocks to be out of synch.

Second, the ACTUAL TIME of the play should be timed from the snap of the ball to the touch of the ball by the defender. And here's where you can "check the math". Get out your iPhone and put the stopwatch on the play. Measure the time between the snap and the touch. Time the **** play yourself. Post your results.

Third, if the "clocks were synched" during the timeout, then the only thing that could cause the "official time" to show one second remaining IS IF THE REFS DIDN'T START THE 9 SECONDS ON THE SNAP OF THE BALL. We've already seen the results of the stadium/NBC clocks (which were in agreement). We saw THAT in real time. We saw zero-point-zero on two different clocks prior to the ball being touched. The only explanation for a synched clock to still show 1 second remaining is that it didn't start on the snap of the ball.

Finally, I am not faulting the refs for keeping "official time" separate from the scoreboard operators. However, I AM FAULTING THE BIG 10 FOR HAVING A SECRET SYSTEM WITH NO ACCOUNTABILITY OR TRANSPARENCY, and one that clearly resulted in either unsynched clocks and/or starting the clock late after the snap of the ball.

PS, **** Occam's Razor...at least in this crazy corrupt situation.

I'm saying if I were the WMU had coach I'd be raising absolute **** to end the game. He seemed almost indifferent.

I was so mad about the result I did not critically think that they had to have reviewed it to put the one second back on the clock.
