Michelle Kaufman's article "We've heard all before" has to be one of the dumbest most ill informed sports stories ever written. I know folks rag on the Miami sports writers but this article drags the bottom of the barrel. She actually acted as if Shannon, Coker and Richt were coaches with real potential rather than who they were, with one being on the downswing of his coaching career and they were all dumb hires like all of them since Butch Davis.

But what takes the cake in a terrible story and just terrible thesis is this statement, "It is possible Cristobal would come here and with Van Dyke at QB along with promising young talent the Canes could finally turn the corner" And she adds the whopper of all whoppers " IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT DIAZ, WITH VAN DYKE AT QB COULD DO THE SAME THING" Really on what alternate universe?

Even Diaz biggest fans don't really believe that at least not any more. That statement means this woman has no business writing about college football or probably any other sport, especially if she can literally watch the man and not recognize that he absolutely did not know what he was doing!

There have been national media members floating the idea of Manny staying as DC and being dead serious about it . They’re reasons ? “He’s an elite recruiter and that defense was elite when that’s all he had to focus on”

These mfs have no clue what they’re talking about . It’s like they’re given a generic cheat **** with “facts” about Miami and just read off it without doing their own research

She should be held to a higher standard. She's not only a journalist, but she is paid to teach to journalism.

That article should be an exemplar of what not to write.

In her defense, it is technically possible Manny could turn the corner with TVD. It’s also technically possible that a meteorite hits me in the dlck when I walk out my front door.

Technically, sure. He's good enough to win games. It's just that with that defense, every game is a dogfight. And the way **** happens in college football, you don't win every close game.

This is Manny Sr using his political connections to drum up support for his kid so he can potentially get another look as an HC somewhere. The narrative is that Manny was on the cusp, he found TVD and the you other young players. NVM he only played them out of desperation. Whatever, not our problem anymore

Has Golden or Shannon been hired as an HC since us? Coker was hired by a school just starting to have a football program.
