Off-season history lesson. Pinckney is one of the oldest, historically relevant African American names in American history. Of course, the relevance is that the majority of slaves were sold through the port of Charleston, SC, where the predominant business man and politician in charge had the last name Pinckney. As was the case, he also owned many plantations in SC and the Carribean. As was the practice, his slaves were names Pinckney early and often. I can't help it, I'm a retired professor.

People are still misspelling Michael Irvin's name, and he's in the NFL Hall of Fame.
