The catches Ive ssen him make... he is more of a glorified thick WR then a tight end...hes more talented at catching the ball then Herndon...Doesnt mean he is a better TE because he is not...You can run more routes with Irving II
 
you never know until you put a guy in a position to start if he will show up. I will bet that he is going to be more prepared this week than he ever has been. Id say he will have a better week than most here would think.
 
I'm sure pops will have some words of motivation for him. It's his time to step up and shine.

So Irvin cant catch a bubble screen? Herndon is no doubt a stud TE but to think this wont work because Irvin is playing the spot is laughable. I'm more concerned about his blocking or catching over the middle.
 
I bet he see's a pass in the first series to get some confidence going and it may just be that EASY bubble..
 
He will do just fine.
I hope Clemson is sleeping on him like some of you all are and leaves him open a couple times.
He will be ready.

Did I say he had a magic wand? Sure didn't but I'm also certain his father can point to the opportunity he has right now. He was never going to start over Herndon, but agree he could've been more productive.

Hope he has his focus on in the pass protection aspect. We need him against what they do and what I hope we do against it.

A few catches has you thinking all this ?

He's not better at Herndon at anything , nada. Maybe he will one day, but he's not in the same universe at the moment. This is a huge loss,CH has been one of our best and most reliable guys.

Ill be rooting for Mike doe, we will need him.

He’s got the body of one of those chicks who wears $5 wigs that you can see the glue around their forehead and long elaborately painted fingernails that they wave in your face when they get heated.

He can catch the football though. If we feel the need to use a TE this Saturday then he will get open in the throw game.
