Seems like he might step right in and play the role of Herndon to a T according to Richt.

we've given him a ton of heat (deserved), but I truly hope the kid shows up and makes plays... has a huge chance to prove he can be an asset moving forward once the FR studs get here...

We're going to miss Chris Herndon more than most people realize. Whenever our offense would sputter, we could always just run the bubble screen to Herndon and pick either a first down or a touchdown. Rosier lost his "get out of jail free card".

You don't have a choice.

Irvin is going to be the guy in that spot and you just have to roll with it, it's going to be a downgrade.

It would be a downgrade from almost any TE in the country.

In the game, yea I trust him. Not during the game, my jimmies are put on notice like some of posters that read Duval’s threads.

Nowhere near the complete TE Herndon is but I expect him to make some plays for us in the passing game.

I’m most concerned about his blocking. Herndon has been pretty solid there.

I can’t recall Irving2 dropping many passes this season, and he’s looked pretty athletic after the catch.

The question is can Malik get it to him?

If only it was as simple as run a bubble screen to Herdon for a first down or touchdown whenever the offense sputtered.

Not worried about him catching the ball. The big concern is his blocking in the run game.

Michael Irvin* II..

He doesn't get the name Irving until he can prove he has that "G" in him like Pops.

What has he done? Hardly anything. He had a huge opportunity to step up this year and he hasn't.

He's definitely not the one I'd count on for a play when needed or a block when needed.

But it's a tallest midget contest at the TE position with Herndon out and he's the tallest one out of a contest with hardly any contestants.

Irvin can run that bubble screen and provide most of what herndon can in that aspect. What he can’t do is block as well as Herndon
