A scare like this can sometimes quickly change our bad habits. I quite smoking 5 years ago when I had to have a pacemaker. Delighted to hear no cancer for Michael.

I have relatives that were smokers and by far they tell me quitting is the hardest thing they’ve ever had to do.

I think I read somewhere that nicotine is fairly equivalent to heroin in terms of its addictive properties.

You are correct. My doctor said it was the equivalent to heroin. Even though I had smoked for 50 years, I stopped cold turkey without aids of any kind and had no withdrawal symptoms, etc. I think the fact that I had to have a pacemaker scared me that it became mind over matter when I quit.
