Michael Irvin on Al Golden

He's saying al deserves time because of the circumstances he inherited. That's not really that controversial.

What did he inherit? 4 NFL running backs, several nfl wideouts, 3 nfl tight ends, several nfl linemen, number 2-3 school all time passers, etc. Yet he went 6-6 and given a raise. The coaches who preceded him were either facing issues that were either worse or they succeeded. However I don't recall Irvin supporting any of them and they had more ties to the program than Al.

flasportsbuzz: Michael Irvin tells @adamkuperstein that Golden has "earned the right to see this through" and says UM fans need to "calm their asses down."

Naw, Golden hasn't "earned" siht.

I wish they would ask Warren Sapp what he thinks? But then again that would interfear with their slanted report.

Right after FROLDEN'S *** IZ FRIED, Michael, and the rest of the sports media will quickly jump on the bandwagon, saying

It's about time
He brought the U down
Was given every chance
Blah Blah Blah

For now, Michael wants continued access. Like others, he'll bury his integrity for a paycheck; kind of like Frolden.

It's funny people hate on Sapp, but he was one of the few to call it out early that Golden was a bum.

Yep and I was one of if not the first to report what Sapp said and all the Folden slurpers were running down Sapp after that. Saying he didn't know defense... LOL

Michael Irvin is a great Cane and will forever be remembered as the soul of the teams he played with during his career. He had a spectacular career both in college and the pros. When we were down 19-3 against FSU, he beat Dion Sanders and changed that entire game. No receiver was as willing to do a 15 yard crossing pattern and yet he always evaded the big hit. He has my total and complete respect as a Cane fan.

Respectfully, I disagree with this opinion at THIS time. If you are a fourth year coach, you have established the culture or winning and have refined your formula for success. You have established an offensive and defensive philosophy, and, having the benefit of playing common opponents every year you should have enough on tape so as to game plan opponents. You also have to know and recognize your talent, including exceptional ones. You can say wefense all you want but if you have a Clowney, Rubin Carter, Duke, O J Anderson, Dorsett, Irvin and Walford type of player then you scheme to your strength.

We did a very, very poor job of utilizing our special players because, for these coaches, prefer players play down to their average ability to benefit the "team" concept rather than let these special players do their thing. We preferred to go all in with a true freshman quarterback and passing game rather than rely on at least 2 sure NFL linemen, an NFL tight end, a junior phenomenal running back, and one of the fastest players in college football as a wideout. Enormous talent and a 6-7 record. I won't cool my *** down and accept mediocrity. Michael Irvin shouldn't either, with all due respect to him.

All of that in one of the weakest, if not the weakest division in college football. vtech finished ahead of MIAMI....smdh.

Irvin had to open his mouth and now they're talking about Golden everywhere again. It's bad enough the guy is still our corch but now it's being shoved in my face again. I go to Rotoworld to distract myself with some draft news and instead I see a blurb on the 1st page about Al fat **** Golden.

This is the best part.

" Interestingly, Irvin's nephew Tim Irvin, a local Miami prospect and four-star athlete, enrolled at Auburn earlier this month. Golden is barely over .500 in four years at Miami and posted a 6-7 record in 2014. His seat isn't hot next year. It's an inferno. Jan 29 - 1:13 AM

Doesn't change the fact that Sapp is a gigantic piece of trash.

Don't disagree, but he was right on this
What's even funnier is that ppl use to **** to sapp in here, then he says calls out golden and the same ppl are stroking him. Same goes for Irvin. They used to kiss his *** now....post #2

Dude forget that....I'll raise you something exponentially worse...

There was a time not too long ago where it was considered "cool" on these boards to defend Shalala. Some highly regarded posters (and even mods and even higher up) swore she cared about football and threw out Tim Reynolds-like backhanded shots at anyone who had the audacity to criticize her.

She's got blood all over her hands for what has gone on here over the last decade. I sincerely hope she gets hit by a truck BEFORE she has a chance to retire.

Same with Golden. People use to defend him and say he was great. Now they all went rabid with rabies against him. I get disagreeing and criticizing, but....lol

Lol FSU told Bowden to go F himself. Look what it brought them. No one is bigger than Miami, not Golden nor Irvin. Sorry.

After letting him hang on five years too long.
Yes because people like to deal in sentiment and nostalgia. Sorry Irvin hasn't played at the U since the 80s. This is not about the past of the U but the future and if he can't see that Golden is a cancer thats taking root and destroying the core of it. Whether he help build or not he is helping tear it down by enabling the guy who is actually doing it. And its not the fans fault. Its the admin and El Doldo

Whatever. He didn't have that hard of time. Lane Kiffin went 10-2 his second year after being handed worst sanctions and a bowl ban. Urban Meyer went 12-0 his first season and just won the national championship. Irvin is a god **** moron if he thinks the circumstances are the reason Golden went 6-7 this season.

What circumstances? One of the most talented and experinced teams in the acc? Compare what golden INherited to say virginia's roster. Boston college **** even Maryland etc

Wonder how that compares to Boston college lol.

Shalala must be ****ed that her last year at Miami is not as peachy as she thought it would be.

now if Wherrera is graduating this May, I hope he tells shalala to fire Golden as he shakes her hand on stage.
