I agree, but he can be quiet too. Mike needs to keep in mind that Al is not part of the family until he is part of the family. Until then he is just hired help cashing paychecks. Paychecks many of us have helped fund. Mike earned his right to speak, no doubt, but Al has not earned anything, including his paycheck. Mike needs to chill himself and remember WE are owners, like him, Al is not.
 
Al Golden seems like a great person. And I would love to be able to support him. But Al Golden deserves all of the criticism in the world for what he and his band of idiots have done to this defense. There is and was way too much talent on that side of the ball to perform the way it has on his watch. Its the sole reason why we suck. Its why a majority of the DT LB and CB recruits don't want anything to do with our program. He sits back and watches us fail time after time and does nothing about it. No scheme changes. No coaching changes. Just keeps running the same lousy scheme out there implemented by the same lousy coaches. And he can take all of his skewed defensive statistics and shove them. I know what I see on the field. And thats a poorly coached and executed defense. Al is stubborn beyond words and loyal to a fault. And thats what is hurting our program. Not some mythical sanction-cloud.

Golden Girls like DK love these comments cuz they love TALK. That is all they have, just that - TALK. No results. All sizzle, no steak. All hat, no cattle. It's why you didn't hear a peep from them when Folden lost 7 games, but now that he doesn't actually have to produce on the field, it's TALKING season. This is what Folden and his crew live for - selling the future since they can't win in the present.

Prepare for a long offseason like last year's: more delusional Foldenites telling us how we're crazy because we don't think we're gonna win 11 games, and why Al has earned 15 more years because he lost 3 scholarships this season.

The "Golden girls" at this point are 2 or 3 admins or family members with MULTIPLE screen names on this board preaching the Don Bailey Jr sermon.

Look at the posts of idiots like dk, itsacanesthing, and the other aliases and just focus on the lack of intelligence pervasive in their ******* posts. They're not living in reality or posting based on rational thought...we're WAYYY past that.

They ignore stats, they ignore results, they ignore reality...all they want to do is support the administration and current staff at all costs.

Ban all of them. These idiots aren't Cane fans...they are people with agendas who don't care about the long term outlook of the program and are ok with mediocrity. They represent the school of thought that has torn this program down over the last 10 years.

I consider them UF and FSU fans at this point.

If he REALLY meant it (which I still don't think he did - as I mentioned earlier I'd bet he is just doing the administration a public marketing favor) then he should absolutely go check himself back into a drug rehab center.

If the reporter would have asked him about the scheme or about dorito, I think he may have given an entirely different response. But because he was axed about al golden specifically, I think Irvin felt the need to toe the company line.

It is what it is.

The man he's speaking of may end up coaching his son, so, I don't necessarily put a whole lot of stock into what Mike says publicly. What a man says behind closed doors to his family is his own business. In any event, it very much feels like Mike is tap dancing a bit with this very bland comment, which is all well and good for his particular situation with Junior.

I have such a hard time believing that a man with Michael Irvin's football acumen still believes in Al Golden.

He's clearly become another mouth piece spouting company policy; saying stuff directly to the fans which I strongly suspect he doesn't actually believe.

Nobody is forcing Michael Irvin to address the fans. He's opening himself up to criticism.

The real problem is the idiots who secretly think Golden is a beast who fell victim to circumstance hear the Benedict Arnolds oily words and it fuels their fire.

Michael Irvin is active in the revolution against Al Golden. He's chosen a side. Being a great football player doesn't protect him from being a turncloak.

He can have any opinion he wants, but if he's going to be a fake *** ***** then were going to treat him like hes a fake *** *****.
 
The issue I see here for Mike is he doesn't want to go blasting Golden as he is trying to send his son Mike Jr. here.

He's kind of stuck in the middle.

Although I feel he should have never shared or said anything.
