I will say this in her defense, and it will be the ONLY thing I will ever say in her defense... She wanted Barry Alvarez to come in and take over. Had that happened, we'd have been in far better shape than handing the program over to Coker.

Are you suggesting that because a coach got fired or "run out of town" that he was therefore no good? In that profession, 80% of coaches get fired. Bobby Bowden was "run out of town" at the end.

People come to the conclusion that they like and then fish for evidence to support it afterwards. They already hated Shalala so they concocted a story to align with that previously conceived hatred.

No. What I am suggesting is getting run out of town by The USTA Roadrunners is ridiculous. You didn’t answer the first question tho about why no D1 school was knocking down his door for his services.

As others have noted, it all started with not hiring a legitimate replacement for Butch. The assertion that Larry Coker is the only coach in the country who could have led the 2001 team to a national championship is pretty hilarious. Coker was handed the keys to a Porsche. He ran it into a ditch. Shannon dumped gasoline on it, and Golden lit the match.
 
Sad but this is the narrative Donna and Paul really were cluless on how to run a program. Must say Donna could have bought the OB for a reported 13M if , IF memory serves still losing the OB is what irritates me the mist of the entire era .

Great stuff OP. Of course you've still got some of your morons in here who try to ruin any positive thread but I agree 100%. We are well on our way.
