Miami's 2013 Team: Entire Starting Offense in the NFL

Shoot, I see no reason why three good players on D can't stop everyone. Our D talent was putrid in 2013. Our O was good, but no O is going to be able to outscore everyone when your D is that bad. Undefeated with that O... give me a freaking break. FSU won the title that year and even they couldn't have overcome a D like that.

Did you watch the same bowl game I did? You know, the one against Louisville? When we couldn't get a ****ing first down and had zero offensive points through 3 quarters?

So, going by bowl games alone is cool? If that's the case, we should hire Mark Donofrio back, because his D shut Mike Leach down. One game doesn't a pattern make. If I remember correctly our starting QB was without a leg that game. Now as for the rest of the season, we won 9 games because our O scored well. Remember the NC State game? Our D gave up half a million yards but we won because of our O. Seems like I remember Morris breaking the UM record for passing yards that day. Our O stunk it up in the bowl, for sure, but people need to stop acting like our O was the reason we weren't good that year. Check our D rankings in 2013. They were absolutely the bottom of the barrel.
The NC State game you are referencing was in 2012.

Thanks. Fact remains our O was light years ahead of our D.

Also, I had forgotten Coley had been here that long. 3 years? Man.... Yeah, our O wasn't as good in 2013 as it was the year before, still, our D was putrid, again.

A big reason our O wasn't as good in 2013 as it was in 2012 was that Jed Fisch, a quality QB coach and solid OC was replaced by James Coley. Yes, Morris's ankle was most definitely a factor but it's clear to me Coley was the major drag coefficient on that offense. What was our first game in 2013? FAU right? Anyway, you could see immediately that the route concepts were bizarre, and made little sense. The guy was routinely running 9 routes deep posts vs umbrella coverage, then countering that with WR bubble screens. The idiot would constantly have his QBs executing play fakes on 3rd and long or with an empty backfield.

Coley had zero clue on how to attack a defense and get guys open. It was either long developing routes or a power running game. His offenses had the market cornered on 3 and outs and there was no flow to anything. The result was a disjointed offense that got shut down verses equal or better talent. The exception would be the out of body experience he had in the 1st half of the FSU game in 2014 and the second half against the holes last year. I almost forgot his penchant for calling passing plays from the shotgun formation inside the 5 yd line. Just a complete imbecile.

Pretty incredible that Golden couldn't do jack with this squad. Can't really believe this team went 9-4. Just insane.

WR - Allen Hurns
WR - Phillip Dorsett
WR - Stacy Coley (will be in NFL)
RB - Duke Johnson
QB - Stephen Morris
OL - Ereck Flowers
OL - Seantrell Henderson
OL - Brandon Linder
OL - Jonathan Feliciano
TE - Clive Walford
Looking back that should have been a sick offense

But for one Alfred Golden....

Well, we should have still out scored everyone. Golden chose to play Highsmith and Rogers at safety like a complete moron. Bush, Perryman, Robinson and Chik were on the D.

Our defense was

Bush -NFL
Burns-NFL
Howard -NFL
L Gunter-NFL
Corn-future NFL
Perryman-NFL
T Armbrister-NFL
Chick-NFL
McCord-NFL
AQM
Grace
Curtis Porter
J Carter
R Kirby
Jimmy Gain played in NFL

So there was more than enough talent on defense to be top 15

Got to it b4 me. Dont know what the **** thomas is talking about

I still think Golden held Coley back when the offense got rolling just to protect the poorly trained and weak schemed defense..
But like someone else said,
On to 2016-17 season, let's see what these kids can do with REAL coaches

21-14 FSU heading into Half with a one legged Stephen Morris....we were fortunate but played well enough to give us a chance...

Golden comes out with NO ADJUSTMENTS..... NONE... NADA... NILCH...

and they lose 41-14 ..... smh

Credit to OP for sifting through the soul crushing Bog of Golden Sweats to find another exhibit of his failures.

Credit to Al for pulling off such an epic accomplishment. To keep a team stacked with that much talent from winning is really impressive. You have to work your *** off to reach that level of failure.

You are delusional if you think the offense couldn't do more than just finish 2nd or 3rd or whatever in the coastal. I probably should have titled the post differently anyway. The Offense is not just in the NFL. Most are high quality players and starters in the NFL.

Has to be the most talented offense in the last 10 years of college football, especially if you take what these guys are doing in the League into consideration.

In all fairness, our O had to outscore teams in shootouts, because our D was atrocious. Didn't we win 9 games that year? The O wasn't the problem.

It is hard to win when your offense has to play against two defenses -- theirs and yours. Not to mention to coaching staffs.

Yeah, I can't believe we had that clown for 3 years. Somehow I had blocked that out. Our 3rd down conversion rate just helped our D stink that much more. We had a terrible, terrible coaching staff, especially at the top 3 positions. Good days are ahead.

Wasn't it following the 2013 season that Golden first coined the term "trending up" in regards to the defense?

When you're at the bottom, there's really only one way to go. NOW we are trending up, and that started the second Donna Shalala left. Took another step when Golden was fired. Took a massive step up when we hired a professional coaching staff. Now even our stadium is trending up.

Don't put words in my mouth. No way in **** were we good enough on D to win a **** thing. Talent wise, scheme wise, coaching... no way. That list doesn't tell the age of those kids in 2013, does it? True freshmen on D is a disaster, and we had several of them being forced to play. Our D-line depth and talent was atrocious. And touting Armbrister as some NFL stud is laughable. We were a joke on D in every single way.

And no, UM football didn't take years off my life. It did, however, free up more weekends, which probably added years to my life.
