Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes are reportedly hard at work trying to flip a 2027 recruiting target who likely went off the radar of many Canes fans.

Kemon Spell, the No. 1 running back in the class according to 247Sports Composite Rankings, committed to Georgia on February 2, and noise surrounding his recruitment largely went quiet.

But Wednesday afternoon, On3's Steve Wiltfong noted that the Hurricanes are pushing hard for the five-star.

Moments later, after Wiltfong posted the tweet, Spell quoted it and said, "This is not true, I'm a dawg."

Yet, CanesInSight's @DMoney believes the Hurricanes are still pushing in his recruitment, alongside efforts for Auburn running back commit Myson Johnson-Cook.



“Talking to some people, I think he's in a similar boat to Myson Johnson-Cook, where that door is not closed,” said DMoney. “He is an elite player, one of the top backs, if not the top back.”

“I interviewed Spell personally right when he visited and he liked his visit to Miami, but Georgia got him… talking to sources, this one is not dead."

The Hurricanes already have a tailback committed in Poplarville’s Ty Keys. If the Hurricanes can swoop into the SEC and flip Spell to Miami, that will create an electric one-two punch with two dynamic recruits who both put up video game numbers during their junior seasons.

This past season, Spell was on campus to watch Miami play; however, travel issues kept him from making it in time for the game.

Keep in mind, Spell is from Pennsylvania, meaning he doesn’t have a direct affinity to the Bulldogs.

The Hurricanes already have a total of five five-star prospects committed to their 2027 monster class, including former Georgia commit Donte Wright.

The hunt for the nation's best tailback is now on, as Georgia looks to keep him in Athens — and avoid another flip to Miami this cycle.

No, having multiple threads active on a single player/recruit is problematic. For instance, if there are multiple threads on one recruit, where does the latest information go? Which thread? Which thread do we follow for the latest information?

Having multiple threads active for one recruit seems to be because of clicks and views instead of satisfying the consumer.

I look for thread that’s talking about the best BBQ and post it there.
