Miami will struggle becoming elite..

No Miami will struggle to be elite if we don't recruit and develop out talent property.

Eventually, our depth will be so deep that kids who aren't NFL ready won't be able to leave early because they will have no film since they weren't getting reps. And if kids do leave early we will have enough talent behind them to reload. This is what Bama and OSU are doing now. It what we use to do.
Bingo! OPs entire premise is false. Bringing back kids who were never, and will never be, 1-4 rounders is not how you become elite.

Recruit better (happening now), develop better (we’ll see), coach better (on the right track). Repeat.

Once we have the proper quality and depth across the roster, we'll be fine.

The '99 - '02 teams were losing top quality underclassmen too.

We were backfilling just fine until Coker ran out of Butch's players.

The 99-02 teams also brought back guys like dan morgan, santana moss, reggie wayne, and ed reed for their senior years. Our run doesn’t happen if they don’t return.

Jackson isn’t that level of player, but he’s very good and if he leaves, we are once again very thing at CB and we will be playing a ton of true freshman.

We arent going to get back if we lose almost every draft eligible kid to be a fifth round pick each year. To compete with the top schools, we need talented and experienced players.

Stupid post OP . Happens every where. Some leave , some stay . Just the way it is . Live with it and recruit well enough so it dont matter.

Wrong wrong wrong wrong. Also 99-00 was a totally different period. Can't compare that with 2018. You lose some guys , some guys stay. If you recruit well enough then it doesn't matter in the long run. Also Miami is literally on the edge of being elite. If we had a better Qb this season we would of been. Next season starts the dominance again. I suspect in the next 5 years we will make the playoffs 3-4 times and win a title at least.

Those of you trying to talk yourselves into RJ McIntosh needing another year are doing so purely based on emotion. The guy has a floor of the third round. He is going to go pro and he should.

You post like a thirteen year old. You don’t know what the word “literally” means, so stop using it. Wrong why? Other than you concluding that with no information back it up? Stop posting kid. You add nothing to the discussion.

Why does everyone think coming back is better for every player? Just because you put more on film doesn't mean you are going to be better. Mike Jack played well in the middle of the season and tailed off some later in the year. Coming back doesn't mean you are going to improve your draft stock. I mean look at Delaney, his stock has dropped dramatically for coming back this year. Mike Jack's stock is hot right now, smart move IMO if he left. Yes he would help our team if he stayed, but looking at whats best for him.

Miami will be fine once we get a couple more recruiting cycles. That's why/how "elite" programs overcome underclassmen leaving earlier. It's really not rocket science.

Who said Michael Jackson stock was hot? The people that matters (NFL Scouts) I'm sure they are not saying he's a top 3 round pick. I'm positive once he gets the proper feedback, he'll be at Greentree next year.

He's not going to have better stats than he had this year. He had a good statistical year and has little on film to critique. Yeah he can get better by staying but that can also lead to having more flaws put on tape

Jackson is 5th/6th rd. Unless his family is in a dire financial situation this is really an awful decision

True...But, why can't he improve? I'm not to concern about his stats, but more so improving is technique. That's what the scouts will be looking at. Stats don't necessarily tell the whole story.

If you Recruit and Develop properly .. this isn't an issue..

Depth and quality is what separates programs

Just keep recruiting well and developing well and it will all balance out eventually. We will be elite, with elite depth and thus able to withstand early departures

People acting like Miami is the only place that kids leave early for the draft. If you don't have players leaving after three years, it's because they suck and your team sucks. Should some guys stick around an extra year? Yes. Will a majority of players still stay for four years? Yes. It's called college football in 2017.

Some of you are brutally missing the point. Stop comparing guys who leave for rounds 1-3 to guys going in later rounds. It’s hardly any comparison at all.

McIntosh probably can go and get drafted higher. Norton might have an outside shot at earlier rounds, but most likely not. Mike Jackson leaving would be a terrible decision period. I’m sure some slimy agent is in his ear and lying his *** off, because I doubt anyone on staff - anyone looking out for his best interest, really - would tell him to leave. Needs another year.

Maybe Richt will talk some sense into him. This is one of those times I think he should and will give him some advice.
