we win out. I expect every ranked team we have beaten will improve their rankings by the year end. FSU, Florida, and Notre Dame have excellent chances of improved play and rankings. After looking at Ohio State and Oregon schedules, there is no way they will have the strength of schedule wins that we have. Therefore, if we manage to keep our heads on our shoulders and win the remaining games on our schedule we should go into the playoffs as the number one seed.

I know this is early and I hate counting my chickens after being burned so many times in the past but.....

If Bama, UGA, TAMU or OU wins out they’ll be #1. If IU, Oregon or Ohio State wins out they’ll be #1. If we want to be #1 ND, FSU, USF & UF have to not lose again. Odds are we won’t play another ranked team until the ACCCG. We need a two loss SEC & BIG10 champ to get the #1 seed. If beating three T25 teams isn’t enough to get us ahead of OSU, winning out won’t either.

Notre Dame likely
UF possibly
FSU doubtful, I expect them to quit like they did last year, a loss to Pitt tomorrow would not shock me

Bama lost to common opponent, won't happen. UGA lost to Bama. TAMU and OU have direct path to #1 though.

Man, that is a bold take predicting the current number two team in the country to be the number one team in the country with six games left I mean, how could you even have the balls to predict that?

I can't see it unless some other ACC teams step up enough for more primetime matchups. The longer the season goes on the more oxygen the SEC and B1G are going to consume. Miami vs Stanford isn't getting segments from any of the prediction/react pod cast bros or gameday.

I personally would predict winner of B1G (Ohio State vs Oregon) will get the #1 seed, but I'm just a dude on a message board.

While the 1 seed would be great, 1-4 doesn't matter that much to me. Get the extra week of rest and preparation and go from there. Miami is going to have to beat good teams to win a natty. Once you're in complaining about the draw is for the mopes.

As long as we get the bye, that's fine with me. We need to win the ACCCG to be in the top 4 or it's AWAY games for us all the way through. So we need to NOT sh*t the bed from here on out, including the championship game against Tech.

Once we're in the Championship round, we need to be in the top 4. We have to beat Tech to do that. Given our record against them in recent years, that's not a slam dunk.

One game at a time.

FYI, Taint fans are already bi*ching about the Canes on X. PopTart bowl jokes, that kind of thing.

If Miami has the same number of losses as an SEC or B1G team, it will be ranked behind that team. In fact, it's possible an SEC or B1G team with one MORE loss than Miami gets ranked higher. We are officially in the era of the haves and have-nots. The Canes are in the have-nots (for now).
