Miami basketball was put in a different situation Friday night. The Hurricanes landed in Syracuse with the temperature at 6 degrees and snow falling as they stepped off the bus. It was a big change from the weather they’re used to in South Florida.

This isn’t normal weather for Miami, but that’s part of playing on the road in this conference. It also makes you wonder why Syracuse is even in the ACC when it’s so far from everyone else.

Even with the cold, the game is played indoors, so it shouldn’t matter much once tip-off starts. Still, it’s a good experience for the team and for fans who made the trip, especially those coming from Florida. Tip-off is coming soon, and Miami will look to handle business on the road.

Take a look when they got off the bus:

Miami comes into the matchup sitting at 15–4 overall and 4–4 in ACC play, while Syracuse enters at 12–7 overall and 3–3 in conference. Both teams are looking to snap a two-game losing streak.

For the Hurricanes, those losses came against Clemson and Florida State, with Miami falling by double digits in both games. Meanwhile, Syracuse is also searching for momentum as ACC play begins to tighten up.

With both teams desperate to get back on track, Saturday’s game could play a big role in shaping Miami’s conference outlook moving forward.

The Dome is a tough place to be the visiting team. First time for most if not all our players. The "sight lines" can take a half to adjust to.

With the crowd behind the baskets seated far back, and the bleachers on the sides of the court angled far less steeply than usual, it's "like shooting into outer space" in terms of depth perception.

Then again, we can hardly shoot worse from the perimeter than we already do. Maybe Malovec finds the place to his liking and breaks out today!
