I rewatched the game and I gotta say, this must have been Malik Rosiers best game of his career thus far. Its just too bad that Richards had a case of the drops in the 1st half.
Secondly, the big problem in our offense continues to be Redzone and 3rd Down, and the solution imo is one I've been calling for since ******* week 1 - GO UNDER CENTER! **** man on 3rd and short and in the redzone, we have absolutely no ability to run between the tackles. I think we really need to go under center and run some power out of singleback. That'll give the RBs a running start going forward instead of sideways.
Third, I saw a lot of people on here complaining about the run defense, and to be fair after half time we did struggle to keep their QB contained, but we played very well imo. In the run game, if you watch, pretty much every big run they got on us came when we were running a stunt along the DL which led to them basically washing themselves away, but the problem was the LBs didn't exactly fill the void all that great. But the stunts were working well in the passing game, and sometimes when you get caught doing it it'll lead to some big runs. I'm not worried about that tbh. I think the Run D played solid. And last week against GTech we shut them down.
Gotta admit I, and just about everyone on here, has been wrong about Langham and Michael Jackson. I don't think Jackson is as good as Young or anything, but he's obviously playing at a pretty high level for us, and so is Delaney (since being allowed to play physical and jam wrs). But the problem with the pass D is the safeties imo. Redwine I think has played well and Jaquan has done the best he can but the problem is he is really limited due to his athleticism. I'd personally like to see Jackson come in at safety anytime Jaquan or Redwine comes out, and not the backup Safeties we have. We need to really improve our communication back there. More man (and press) will be great for us.
Rj McIntosh was ******* killing it all game as was Pinkney. Shaq was good, but I did see him miss on a couple important plays including that TD run and getting washed on some big runs. McCloud has been probably the biggest disapointment on defense thus far. Im very happy with the way Kool has our Dl playing and I'm hoping we see Diaz slightly letting off the blitzes and just trusting our DL to get there.
