****Miami vs. SMU GAME THREAD****

We tried to make it exciting but that's a really solid win. SMU desperately needed this game. We didn't. And we still won fairly handily. Looked closer getting really sloppy and their guy going nuts in the 2nd half. SMU looked pretty salty at the end there having their season ruined. TFB.

Congrats Canes, Double bye! I never expected that this season. 6 seed coming?
Iirc Hamilton took a 6 seed to the Sweet 16. Why not Lucas?

He did. In 1999-2000 Miami was the 6 seed and beat Arkansas and Ohio State before losing to Tulsa in the Sweet 16. That team could/should have made the Final Four.

It was closer on the scoreboard than it should have been, mostly because the 'Canes were very sloppy in the second half, but a road win against a possible NCAA Tournament team is a big deal. I'm quite sure Miami never trailed, and had a comfortable lead for most of the second half.

DOVRAT needs to play more, that dude has earned minutes. Miami needs a shooter, and Dovrat has shown the ability to hit from deep. He's a better defender than I anticipated and seems to have a firm grasp of where to be. Allen is a spark plug, but Dovrat can do more and is more of an offensive threat at this point of the season. If Miami can extend the rotation and find some minutes for him, that helps everyone.

Tre has a 3 to 1 assist to turnover ratio.. what am I missing?
Dribbling into a wall of people. Stops momentum. Virginia game, how does the team not get a shot off at the end? If Donaldson is that guy, those decisions & outcomes don’t happen.
Somehow letting other people get the rock late who make TOs.
The term “Mamba mentality”

Be that Closer assassin guy.
Again, the games I’ve watched, I haven’t seen IT.

...have you watched us without him?

Some really questionable officiating tonight. Second part of the first half they just decided to stop calling all fouls. The play where Miller dribbled the ball out of bounds that we challenged, the official wasn't even looking at the play, and then just guessed (wrongly). The Udeh backcourt debacle was a classic case of refusing to call an infraction because you inexplicably ignored the obvious foul that directly led to the infraction.

Send these dudes back to the local Saturday morning men's league

Yeah, that first half especially was brutal. Second half was a little better, but still some brutal calls and no calls. It’s like that in every league and every game for teams from Miami.

In the last 4 games, 3 have been wins and 1 oh so close loss. They've hit 36 for 77 from 3 pt land at a 47% clip. Keep that up and we will be TOUGH TO BEAT!
