Miami vs PSU Fiesta Bowl

Why the **** are we gluttons for punishment. Let that awful ****** night stay in the past. That **** still ****es me off to this day.
Watching the History of college football, and JJ was interviewed....He said "That Penn State game was the WORST loss of my whole football career, it still makes me mad to this day".....
Jimmy Johnson said it, and I endorse his feeling....
The pain in his eyes, as he said that made it real....it haunts him to this day, and Jimmy is as we know is a tough dude.

So I’m 37. Watching this game for the first time in my life. My first Cane memory is Wide Right I... don’t remember anything about the 87 Fiesta Bowl but after watching the first 5 minutes, how in the f*ck did we lose this game?!

Gary Stevens.

That's how.

SSCC........now we are sheltering, how many hot dogs with ketchup have you eaten? I know with each intercept you reached for one......lol..talking about "glutton for punishment"......made me think....hmnmmmmm..

Highsmith could not be stopped and JJ wanted Testaverde to hand it off BUT the offensive system by Stevens was to read the defense and check off. Testaverde keep checking off to passes and throwing Int's. To Paterno's credit they ran their defense so Vinny read pass, I wish JJ had put Geof Toretta in the game for a series or two, if I ever meet JJ I am going to ask him if he considered putting Geoff (Gino's brother) in or not. Geoff played the last regular season game because Vinny injured himself crashing his MoPed. Geoff had the most passing yardage in that final game then Vinny did in any game that year.

The most statistically lopsided championship game in the history of sports where the dominating team lost.
The Pirates/Yankees '60 series gets the dis-honorable mention.

We should have run for 400 yards that game, P.S. spend the whole evening dropping 8 into coverage : and Vinny kept throwing it : In rewatching the game the announcers made a comment that Paterno told his assistants he wanted the Tennessee game film from the Sugar Bowl. Where Vinny laid another egg. You would have Steve Walsh QB those teams it wouldn't have been closed.

Thanks for this thread OP, very uplifting, can you start one about 9/11 next.

It could easily have been a lot worse. On top of the 5 passes that actually were intercepted, there were at least another 5 passes PSU easily could have intercepted. I forgot about all the near-interceptions until rewatching the game.

Yeah, that's the night that even vinny testaverde found out how good we/UM was, you know how hard vinny had to work to lose that game, I know in vinny's head he kept saying, got damyum, these ****'s are good, 5 picks, than he audibles out of the last play instead of giving the ball to Highsmith. Just always notice how none of the players mention vinny or that game. It's not hard to figure out what was going on at UM, when you got names like vinny, gino, frank/ie(testaverde, torreta, costa) and you not watching the soprano's, that should give you a clue!

You are alive, therefore you still have time to amend your ways before you take that next and final journey. Please don't do it without having excluded ketchup from your Hotdog. @Mklein13 @Rellyrell @scorpio40 this guy right here is the guy who puts ketchup on his hotdog, he is a good dude but help him see the error of his ways.

I’m just gonna pretend I never read that and continue with my dinner. No beer yet. Gonna wait till midnight and get ****faced watching the Miami Fsu replays.

Mustard, yes mustard. I love spicy brown or yellow.

Onions, **** yes. ****. Yes.

Relish, eh. Sauerkraut, sometimes.... I even enjoy a Coney Island dog once in awhile.

**** to the no with ketchup. It's meant for fries. (Salt and malt vinegar is still better.)

Someone made a thread about it but when I checked the guide I didn’t see anything. So I guess I’ll Youtube it.

I got all excited. I'm 3 beers deep, drinking some nice hazy NE IPA's from a local brewery Hidden River, picked up a 13% stout from them as well, that might be my last beer of the night.

Or maybe my 4th.

Oh man 13%. A few of those and you’ll be down for the count. I’m not a fan of dark beer. Just never got into it.

Fortunate to have friends in craft beer industry since late 90's so got into it young. Started with Pale Ales( Sierra Nevada was one of my first fav), then IPA's( still my favorite style), but i do enjoy porters and stouts.

I've tried sours, just not a fan. One or two breweries have made one i can drink, but only one at a setting.

Belgians...don't like the brett yeast. Bananas and cloves are not a few of my favorite things so I don't really enjoy the monks' offerings. If I have to, the dark ones(dubbels/quads) are tolerable.

SE Pa ( where I live) is actually loaded with good local breweries, plus the market is large enough we get stuff from all over the country( Toppling Goliath, Hill Farmstead, Russian River, The Alchemist, Prairie Artisan Ales, etc.)

I love beer.

**** **** sounds awesome. That makes two of us who love beer lol. My buddy worked for Two Brothers right out of college turned me onto craft beer before his dad (my boss) came calling to join our company for the long haul since he will be taking over when his pops retires.
