Santana Moss was a known kid who played for the 2X defending state champions that dominated everyone except 1 team on their schedule like 20 something kids from those Carol City teams went D1. The only thing Butch did was use a track scholly on him which was legal back then. Butch found Santana.....LOL

Santana was great but very lightly recruited. Otherwise we never get him on a trach scholly. He was known in s folrida, but look at his recruiting rankings. Wayne was the big recruit at wr, not Moss. Not by a long shot.

Nah Man.....Recruiting in those days was completely different....there was no Rivals...Scout.com..etc...just USA Today....Reggie wasnt a Big time WR recruit at all.....Thanks to Curtis Johnson for Reggie....

My memory is that Reggie was a 4 star.
could be wrong but we had some highly recruited kids in those days. Damion Lewis, Quincy Hipps, Wayne, Franks, Nate Webster

not 5 stars but some 4 star guys.

The 1997 team was awful and this was the absolute nadir of the probation years.

At one point in the season, I believe we had 45 scholarship players available.
 
Back in '97 or even earlier..Weren't there AOL chat rooms where we all talked canetalk? I remember they were pretty lively...
