Miami vs Penn State talent

Penn State has been pretty consistent under Franklin, made the semi’s last year and is ranked 2nd going into this season. Yet it you look at the recruiting rankings Miami has far out recruited them. Our last 3 classes are 7, 4, and 14. Penn State is 14, 14, 15. We also have much higher ranked portal classes.

Franklin is ridiculed constantly by his fan base for his inability to win the big games. At quarterback I’d take Beck over Allar 7 days a week.

It should be interesting watching the season play out in comparison.
It’s very surface level to look at recruiting rankings and not factor in retention of those previous classes. If you lose 50-60% of recruiting class that was ranked 7th and they retain 80% their class what does that say? Are you really out recruiting them?

We need to do a better job of talent retention. 24 class is off to a better start than 23. We’ll see if that continues

i always looked at psu as the team that stacked up wins on homecoming type teams.

They recruit really well in trenches on both sides and retain/develop guys pretty well.

Whenever they play teams up to their talent level they seem to wilt. They always seem to be playing at home or a bowl game in tampa lol

Ive never seen a team have a game where i think they didnt have a completion to a wr a team of their caliber n somehow they managed to do it.

like stated their whole scandal just faded away...nothing happened..didnt see or hear of nothing...Miami with legal nil had us on huge media platforms ar problems and funded by the medellin cartel...

i guess if they ever let go of franklint hey would be in on al golden

Love the excuse that always comes up when a team is better than ours but doesn’t recruit aswell. They are always junior and senior that waited their turn lol. When it’s not true
Cool reply bro.

This is Year 11 of Franklin. This is Year 4 of Mario. You don't think there's a bit of a difference there as it applies to recruits and where each respective program is at this moment in time? You don't think it might be more fair to wait a little longer to compare the two corches? My comments were directed squarely at Pedo State with regard to recruiting because the comment I replied to compared the recruiting. I even alluded to some folks (thanks for being that guy) associating what I wrote as slurping Mario. While you didn't come right out and accuse me of that, you did all but that. I wrote nothing that is false or incorrect. Aside from mentioning Mario is Year 4 and Franklin is Year 11, all of my points tied back to Pedo State. I don't like that school/team. Never have. Many of their fans are uneducated, inbred racist hillbillies. But hey, if that's a Mario excuse, so be it.

Miami's projected starters:

QB - Super Senior
RB1 - year 3
RB2 - year 2 - 1 point for you
WR1 - Year 4/5 (Daniels)
WR2 - Year 2 - (Jojo) - 1 point for you
WR3 - Year 1 (Baby Jesus or Moore) - 1 point for you
TE1 - Year 4/5 (Bauman
TE2 - Year 2 (Lofton) - 1 point for you
LT - Year 4 (Bell)
LG Year 4 (McCoy)
C - Year 4/5 (Brockermeyer)
RG - Year 4
RT - Year 3

DE - Year 6
DE - Year 3
DT - Year 2 (Scott)
DT - Year 4/5 (Blay/Moten)
DE2 - Year 2 (Blount/Lightfoot) - 1 point for you
LB - Year 5 (Toure)
LB - Year 3 (Popo)
LB - Year 4 (Wes)
LB - Year 5 (Chase Smith)
LB - Year 1 (Wiley) - MAYBE a point for you.
LB - Year 3 (Malik)
CBs - Lucas and OJ are Year 2 guys I believe. Rest of the contributors are upper classmen.

Disclaimer - I don't have a depth chart or know what it will look like. I also am certain I unintentionally omitted a guy or two.

Seven or so potential contributors out of the 28-30 names/positions I threw out. So yeah, had I actually written this stupid sentence - "They are always junior and senior that waited their turn lol" - you would have a point. However, I didn't write that stupid sentence. You did. And then you tried to put those words in my mouth. Not having that one little homie. While we're at though, love the "lol" that you added while typing.

Bless your heart.

Penn St is one of the few times that rivals Miami with a proficiency to underperform

They’ve got position coaches making $1million+

James Franklin is a great coach whose teams win a lot of games. I’m 3 seasons at Vandy he was 24-15 at Vandy (the worst sec football job). In 3 seasons at UM, Mario is 22-16.

Excluding 2020, Franklin’s Penn State teams average 10 wins a year.

If Mario gets Miami to average 10 wins a year I will be ecstatic

# THEYHATEUS, good luck with Golden Al. I’m sure he has a f**k load of blue/white ties.

Can we just add that James Franklins teams win 10 games cause Franklins teams play crap schedules?

Look at this year. They have 2 really tough games in OSU and Oregon( tho both of those teams lost a lot of talent from last year) and the only other decent team is IU at home.

I think the frustrating thing to me is the assumption that simply playing B1G schedule is tough. When in reality there’s 2-3 elite teams. A few borderline top 25 teams. And then a bunch of trash like Rutgers and Northwestern. It’s not the SEC. I’ll give him credit for winning the games they supposed to which we haven’t always.

That’s fine but I think Penn state fans would say the same thing about our ACC schedule
