Yeah I may be setting the bar too low at .500 conference record. But we are not deep. if we stay healthy 10 wins in the ACC is realistic.I agree that .500 in the conference is the goal, especially before the season. Even though we didn't know how good Miami would be nor how good the rest of the conference is.
Now, after two months of watching Miami and the rest of the ACC, were know both are easily better than last season. Maybe even the best conference in the country.
Before conference play started, every ACC team had a winning record with 12 or the 18 teams having 10 or more wins. That's a huge improvement compared to last season.
It's too early to know for sure but it feels like the ACC could get anywhere from 8 to 12 teams in the NCAA tournament. Depending on how many teams are around .500 after March.
As far as Miami, 10 conference wins in 18 conference games definitely gets them into the NCAA tournament. If you wanted to have a strategy on how to get to 10 wins, you would say go 6-3 at home and 4-5 on the road, maybe even 7-2 at home and 3-6 on the road.
With all that being said, Coach Jai has exceeded expectations and now you look at the Clemson game as another big test to understand how good this team really is.
Honestly, I think it's a very winnable game.
Mind you, Clemson is 15-3 and 5-0 in the ACC.
It feels good to feel good about Miami's chances of winning this game.

Clemson will be a really good test, and likely for both teams.
I agree that depth is the only thing that can derail this season. Talent is definitely not an issue.
Miami really needs the foreign imports (I mean that with all due respect) to step up with some consistent shooting and rebounding off the bench. Those 3 need to be giving Miami 12 points and three made 3 point FGs per game.
Honestly, Timo's defense looks better than his offense right now. Can't move his feet, but his length really bothers smaller guardsMalovec will be hot and cold. In other words, unreliable.
Dante Allen is our bench. Period.
Malovec is so frustrating to watch. When his shot isn't falling, he's gotta find ways to contribute in other ways. He quietly made some nice defensive plays, but we need more from him in the rebounding department. He also can't be completely one-dimensional on offense. He has to develop some sort of midrange game.Malovec will be hot and cold. In other words, unreliable.

Whatever we get from Malovec defensively or on the boards is gravy. His primary and secondary roles are to hit three point shots.Malovec is so frustrating to watch. So much so.Losing Marcus Allen for the season really hurts.
Tbh I think Noam has played well in low minutes. It hurts that he is smaller guard, but wouldn’t mind seeing him get more burn. Can he pass, thinks fast, and can play with or without Tre in the game; and works well with Dante AllenMalovec will be hot and cold. In other words, unreliable.

Agreed he's played well, problem is Tre, Tru, and Dante all do pretty much exactly the same things but better. He's kind of redundant on this team unless someone gets hurt.Tbh I think Noam has played well in low minutes. It hurts that he is smaller guard, but wouldn’t mind seeing him get more burn. Dovrat? Don't know what we have in him, i.e., what exactly intrigued Coach Lucas to recruit him? Probably the PG skills you mention.Tbh I think Noam has played well in low minutes. Combo guard with offense organizing skills and some shooting. Tru is a really good Swiss arm knife but he isn’t that strong of a ball handler so I imagine that was one of the reasons as Tru & Marcus Allen were both guys whose ability to defend multiple positions well was their strongest weapon.Dovrat? His minutes have been cut in half in terms of playing time in ACC games. And, not surprisingly, when he does get on the court, he defers to the experienced guys he's playing with. We're playing with a 9-man rotation, and he's the ninth man.

I don’t feel like we can say his minutes were cut in half. He only got more minutes because Allen was injured so it just went back to where it was.
Noam is the most experienced and the oldest guy on our team. There is a psychological component of being a role player on a short leash though.
Jai runs his starters for most of the game so it’s always tough to find the minutes when Tru & Tre are playing like they have been playing.
Yeah i gotta lotta love for Calhoun & UConn. My cousin was on their 09 team that went to the final fourExcellent points!
I'm a fan of Israeli players. Jim Calhoun, HoF HC at UConn, established an "Israeli Connection" pipeline when he recruited Nadav Henefeld, Doron Sheffer and Gilad Katz. The first two were both very strong contributors on fine UConn teams.
Thought this would be closer, ND was tied at half and then just completely folded after that second-half run. Defense disappeared and we couldn’t get stops when it mattered.Good morning, Hurricanes Nation! How's everyone doing? The sun is shining brightly here in Kentucky, and I'm pumped for some basketball tonight.
The Hurricanes are in South Bend tonight. The Canes will face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and we all remember how last year the Hurricanes were pretty terrible, yet they still managed to beat the Irish. However, these are two totally different teams this time. Miami is coming into this game on fire in the ACC, boasting a 3-0 conference record and an impressive 14-2 overall record.
Here’s everything you need to know about tonight’s matchup against the Notre Dame Irish.
