Yes amen on Glazier. Of all the poor hires/money spends of the last decade, they got this one right in grand fashion. Probably one of the best things we did over the last decade was hire Glazier for this.

Ok, a few things to note. First, with respect to the Herald's rep in Indy, Manny is clueless and out of his element when it comes to reporting on this. This is big-boy stuff. Dennis Dodd has been covering the NCAA since before Manny was even born, knows the system and the key players. Now, more importantly, the fact that they dealt with both basketball and football issues, the individual coaches' issues - plus, presumably the unethical behavior by the NCAA enforcement staff - in 16 hours or a day-and-a-half tells me this wasn't as contentious as some (Mr. Manny) would have us believe. That's a sign there may have been agreement on a fair number of issues, as well as the Committee on Infractions being fairly comfortable with the details and not requiring much back-and-forth or clarification from the sides. On two other points, and our ACC commish deserves kudos for standing up for Miami, and that won't go unnoticed by the COI; and Miami had the infractions case master on its side in Mike Glazier. Having said all this, I expect the football program to get off with largely time served, plus perhaps a loss of a few scholarships over likely a 3-year probationary peroid. The outcome for basketball is less certain because the accuracy of details regarding allegations is less clear, but they didn't take pre-emptive measures like football and so maybe they get hit harder now. We shall see. But no matter, better days are ahead.

So your theory is the NCAA well feel sorry for us? Sure we didn't give them an excuse like those schools did to pound us but then again they were trying to do it from the start. If it hasn't already happen Miami will submit self imposed sanctions and of course mention our 2 bowl games we forgo.

My theory is LOIC means nothing on its face because the NCAA has NO sentencing guidelines or minimum sentencing. Since they make it up as they go a long and have no rhyme or reason, LOIC really means little based on what we have seen.

What? How hard is it to ask "How are you making these amazing profits?" If he says "It's my special secret method" and you still invest, that's lazy. If he says "I did it trading oil futures, here a statement from my FX broker." and you invest without talking to someone at the brokerage who handles his account, that's lazy. If it was your money would you just write a check?

Have you looked into these Ponzi schemes and seen how they operate? They start you with smaller investments, and show you solid return on them until they reel you in. You receive nice checks for a while...it actually seems very legit. Its not until you get in deep and are hooked with good return until the checks stop coming. Hindsight is 20/20 in your eyes here homey. You have no idea. A lot of very very intelligent people have been duped in these schemes.

I get how they work, but they're not sophisticated is all I've been saying. Intelligent people can get duped by a scheme like this, but it's because the greed gets in the way of their intelligence. You have to admit, nobody with any "street smarts" would fall for this.

You could fall for it regardless, you really don't get much of an inkling of something shady going on til after they already got your money. You could have gotten a referral from someone you trusted and never fully did as much research as you would have liked after the thought.

Depends on how I was brought in/introduced to the whole situation. I do know a person that fell victim to a ponzi schemd, he was the last person you would label as not having "street smarts". There are a so many variables at play there. Just stop fronting...........

Ordinarily when the hearing doesn't go as long as suspected, the wait time for the penalties is that much shorter as well. I'm hearing it'll be only 6 weeks until the final verdict is given now.
