Good evening, Hurricanes Nation! We’re back with another Miami basketball gameday. Tonight, the Canes are in Orlando for day two of the tournament at Disney World, looking to bounce back against the Georgetown Hoyas after yesterday’s 72–62 loss to No. 9 BYU.

Georgetown, meanwhile, is coming off a tough one of their own, falling to Dayton after letting the Flyers pull away late in overtime yesterday night.

Before Miami tips off tonight, here’s everything you need to know:

Great start, even though we aren’t playing cohesively on O. Hoyas look overmatched.

Obviously my fault, turned game on at 13-2 wow nice. Saw three plays from **** ending with Allen's missed dunk... ok im going back outside.

That was a really nice drive off the dribble bucket by Tru Washington

I still think it’s too early to make any kind of judgements about how good we are overall, but this seems to be a very well coached team defensively.
Jai is an old school guy (in mentality, not in age obviously) and chose the 'we're going to look rough offensively initially but going to be a nightmare to play against' team building persona vs the one we've seen Larranaga teams possess the past few years.

This team is dreadful offensively. There, I said it. It's almost like none of these guys understand how to play winning offensive basketball and they don't have any understanding of the concept of pace and spacing. Yes, we know this team can defend, but you can't play every game like this. You can't hope and pray the team you are playing is utterly inept offensively.

If I'm an opposing coach, I run zone against Miami. I run it until Miami forces me to stop doing it, because this team has absolutely no idea how to attack one. Honestly, I look at this team as a scathing indictment of AAU ball, because watching this team feels a lot like watching an AAU team. It's almost like they don't practice together, it's "Roll the ball out and let's run". Hopefully Coach Lucas is able to get that corrected as time goes on and the roster becomes established, but it's frustrating to watch live. It's unwatchable, because you can see the buckets left on the table because most of the players have no feel for the game.

That said, shoutout to #11. That's a good minutes eater half. He wasn't awful, he held his own and contributed. If Miami can get that kind of production out of him long term, that's good. I don't expect him to a be a star, or even a high end sub, just be a big body that can provide resistance defensively.

5-7 from 3 and 6-6 from the line at the half. Can we get more of this every night?
No. This is an outlier night, most of these shots are OPEN, and I mean OPEN. Most of us on this board can hit the corner jumpers with no one within ten feet. That said, I wish this team could shoot FTs well, they may very well be undefeated if they weren't pure trash at the charity stripe...
