we can't beat gt, nebraska, and louisville......but we can beat FSU. right
So you are saying that the team has not been playing better?
i don't know what they're doing. va tech and unc aren't even real teams
They aren't real teams? I think it's safe to say they are average teams? Both have pretty good chances at going bowling still. Are you saying a crappy team is one that is able to sit its starters in the 3rd quarter 3 straight games when leading 41-13, 30-0, and 37-6? Are you trying to tell me that a true freshman QB wasn't a big part of the reason for those losses? Against Nebraska that freshman QB and Duke Johnson combined for 3 turnovers. I think that has a pretty big impact on the game. Against Louisville that same freshman QB turned the ball over at the 5 yard line when about to take the lead. That same freshman QB turned the ball over 2 times inside the 20 against Georgia Tech.
The defense may have not dominated in those games, but they definitely gave the offense a chance to win if it didn't turn the ball over and over and over. If Kaaya doesn't throw 2 picks and Duke doesn't have a fumble taken back for a TD, does Nebraska still score 41? Do we still only score 31? I'd be willing to say we score in the 40's if we didn't turn the ball over 3 times, especially when 2 came on drives that we weren't being slowed on. Do we not score in the 30's if we don't have that QB throw 2 picks inside the 20 on drives that the offense looked unstoppable? Against Louisville do the coaches lose faith in that QB if he doesn't turn the ball over on a screen pass? Probably not.
I know you're going to discredit this post, so it was probably a waste of my time, but if by chance you actually take a step back and look at everything you will see this team is improving every week and the defense has definitely gotten quicker and better and it is no secret the offense has gotten a lot better as well.
It doesn't matter how good or bad your defense is. Turn the ball over 3 times a game and multiple times in the redzone and you are going to lose nearly every single time.
