****Miami vs. #11 North Carolina GAME THREAD****

HUGE WIN

I knew Miami would be better, but 19-5, 8-3 is beautiful (even if they blew the FSU and Cal games).
If you said this would be our record with a nice win down the home stretch of the season with a dub over UNC to push our tourney resume over the top you take it

Incredible job by Lucas to flip the team into a winner again… **** near blew it up foundation and all. Impressive for as young as he is but he’s definitely been around elite staffs and to steal a line from Mario “it has to look a certain way”

Even if we don't, but take care of business in games we're supposed to win, and we'll be fine. Beat UVA or UL (or both) and that just improves seeding.
I agree. But winning one of those gives us a **** if a runway in the even we drop one we shouldn’t.

I’d like a double bye for the conference tournament too though. Winning one of those would set us up pretty well for one.

Yeah, for sure. Hopefully this team can start being like Shaq. Making FTs when they count (like they did tonight).

How is this team 19 and 5/8 and 3 IN ACC? we have no depth. We can't shoot FT. We can't shoot 3PT. Yet here we are, down a starting guard and we just beat #11 UNC. 7 games to go and some TOUGH games in there. Win another couple of games against either VT, VA, SMU and LVille and this may just be a tourney team!!

If Miami beats the teams they are supposed to beat(FSU, BC and VT) and gets a split between SMU and NC State, they are safely in. The rest of the games won't matter. Tonight was a huge, huge win. Someone knew something was up, because the win percentages showed Miami as the likely winner. Scheduling helped Miami, UNC likely blew their wad beating Duke and Miami was able to cash in. Ultimately, it doesn't matter, a W is a W.

Obviously anything can happen, but it seems like Miami fans are the only ones who don't think this is a tournament team.
We've also seen this team play more than one game. People just look at records, they don't look at HOW the record were built. This team is extremely flawed, it's okay to have realistic expectations, especially knowing full well that Miami on the bubble is likely not getting in, judging from the last two decades of Miami being consistently underseeded if not flat out snubbed. This team needs to be safely in before I feel comfortable with calling this a tournament team.

If this team makes the tournament, that's amazing, but I'm enjoying the ride no matter what. This program has come a long way from what it was twelve months ago and nothing can ruin that for me.

Sure, but it's not just the record. The computers like Miami too. Despite being flawed, Miami is easily one of the top 68 teams in the nation (yes, I know because of auto bids you have to be better than 68th to make the tournament). I'd say Miami is easily top 40 if not better.
