I attribute some of those defensive plays to those. 2 of those interceptions were plays that wouldn’t be made 9/10 times by said player.

College teams are not deep. We wore them down controlling time of possession. Once they got tired our runs went from two yards to seven or eight and that's where we can be successful. That said, they need to be more productive early against better teams.

First half was a tough watch but I don't think I was ever actually nervous. They played clean football (sorta) and leaned on Stanford pretty good in the second half.

The running game is absolutely still a major problem and I'd like to see more of Josh Moore and Tony Johnson instead of Keelan Marion going forward. Beck does not look completely comfortable back there, which scares as well.

Not sure I love the strategy of always letting the other team score on their opening scripted drive, but the defense was good and it was encouraging to see solid efforts from Lightfoot and Scroggins and Simpson. We need more depth there.

SMU is a much better team so I don't really feel more confident after this one, especially if we can't run the ball consistently. But I am confident that our defense is one of the better units in the country so at the very least, I don't think anyone is running away from us.

It's really concerning how stubborn and oblivious mario/staff is that teams have figured out both defense and offense. They just tack the box everytime
