The Game
Miami travels from Anaheim to the Midwest to face Nebraska in the Big Ten / ACC Challenge on Dec. 4 in Lincoln. The Canes wrap up their 10-day roadtrip with an 8:30 p.m. CT (9:30 p.m. ET) matchup in Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Series
Miami is 1-3 in the all-time series against Nebraska, with the only UM win on Nov. 30, 1951. The Canes are 1-2 against the Cornhuskers at home, 0-0 at neutral sites and 0-1 on the road. Nebraska started their three-game winning streak on Dec. 18, 1971, defeating the Canes 85-58 in Lincoln. Nebraska followed by winning again, 72-64, on Dec. 16, 2000, and most recently downing Miami, 82-67, on Dec. 30, 2006 in Coral Gables.

The Coach
Head coach Jim Larrañaga has a 524-357 overall record in his 30th season as a head coach. He is 54-23 in his third season at the University of Miami.

The Big Ten / ACC Challenge
Miami is 2-4 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, picking up a 67-59 win over No. 13/14 Michigan State last season in Coral Gables. UM’s first win was on Dec. 2, 2009, a 63-58 victory over Minnesota. The Canes are 2-1 at home and 0-3 on the road in the Challenge.

Across the Country and Back
Miami is currently on a 10-day, four-game roadtrip that will see the Canes travel nearly 5,000 miles from Coral Gables, Fla., to Anaheim, Calif., to Lincoln, Neb.

Cardiac Canes
Miami has played three overtime games and three others that were decided in the final minutes. Miami is 1-2 in overtime this season and 2-1 in close games that ended in regulation: wins at Cal State Fullerton and vs. Arizona, and a loss to UCF.

Reed Joins Starting Five
Since joining the starting five for the game against Cal State Fullerton, Davon Reed has doubled his scoring output. In the first six games, Reed averaged 7.8 points, hitting 10 total three pointers, in 25.5 minutes per game. In his last two outings, Reed has hit six from long distance, averaging 14.0 points in 36.0 mpg.

Guards on the Boards
Guard Rion Brown leads the Canes with his 7.1 rebounds per game, while Garrius Adams has pulled down 4.9, which is fourth-most on the team. Davon Reed and Manu Lecomte each average 2.3 caroms per outing.

A Tale of Two Halves
After starting slow against Arizona State, the Canes came from behind for their second win of the DIRECTV Wooden Legacy. Miami shot 29.2 percent (7-24) from the field and 28.6 percent (2-7) from distance in the first half against ASU. In the second period, Miami hit 13-23 (56.6%) FG and 4-6 (66.7%) 3FG. Miami also forced ASU to cool off offensively, allowing the Sun Devils to shoot 50 percent FG and 45.5 percent 3FG in the first half, but only 31 percent FG and 30.0 percent 3FG in the second half.

Rion Brown Rebounds
Senior Rion Brown, a 6-6 guard, is averaging 7.1 rebounds, up from his 2.2 career average prior to the season. This season Brown has grabbed seven or more rebounds in six games. In his previous three seasons, he had only three games with 7+ boards. He pulled down seven once last year and had games with eight and seven as a rookie.

Neb beat FGCU pretty bad earlier, but I like us to make a statement game, this is where it all started last year for us with MSU....
