If we could have our choice on Selection Sunday, Miami would be in the South Region, playing the Round of 64 and Round of 32 games in St. Louis.

With that in mind, I think you'll like Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology. Lundari predicts Miami will be a 7-seed in the West Region, playing its opening round games in St. Louis:

Lundari has the Hurricanes going up against the Longhorns of Texas, who is listed as the No. 10 seed in the field. If the Hurricanes can get past, Sean Miller's'...

Who would we be playing in an 8-9 game?

There's really no point in doing this as these are completely wild and blind guesses, but Lunardi's latest has us playing TCU in the 8 vs 9 game in Tampa, with the winner playing the gator.

We really want to stay off the 8 line and avoid having to play a 1 in the round of 32, so here are his 7-seeds that ideally we'd want to lose:

St Mary's -- They lost last night in the WCC Champ game to Gonzaga
Kentucky -- They play a bad LSU team today in the SEC Tourney, at 12:30. A loss would help
Georgia -- They have a bye today and play tomorrow in the SEC Tourney against the winner of Ole Miss vs Texas
Villanova -- They have a bye today and play tomorrow in the Big East Tourney against the winner of Georgetown vs DePaul

Like to see us move up to that 6 line. Won't be easy. Two Tourney wins at least and maybe a little help elsewhere.

Win 2 and I believe we get to a 6.

I'd like to think you're right. I really don't think the committee puts much stock at all into the conference tournaments anymore. Look at Michigan last year. There are so many examples.

Put it this way, if we really are an 8 right now, there is NOTHING we can do in Charlotte to get to a 6.

I think the seeds are about 98% set at this point. JMO.

I’m good as long as we’re not an 8. I don’t care much about 6 vs. 7. I would just rather not face a Michigan, Duke, or Zona in a second round game

what's our ceiling seeding with winning the ACC tourney with a banged up Duke team? guessing 6th as some have said?

Lunardi has us up to a 7 in Philly playing UCF in the first round. Unfortunately we’d be playing UConn in round 2 in that scenario.

A win today and I think we’ll be given serious consideration to climb up to a 6 seed

Don't want any part of UConn, especially that early in the Tourney.

This is bull****.

We just beat the 6-seed Louisville. We SHOULD BE the 6-seed in Greenville.

Absolute bull****.

CBS interestingly has us on the 6 line in the East region playing a play-in game winner and then potentially Nebraska. There's typically always one play-in team that goes on a run and gets to the second weekend of the tourney, so I'd much prefer a first round game where our opponent is coming in cold as well. Nebraska would be a beast of a second round opponent.

Honestly wouldn't mind being an 8 seed in a bracket where Florida's a 1. We can beat them
They will get popped early. Much like I think Duke will get popped early. But UF will get popped early due to lack of dynamic/consistent guard play but I don’t think it would be Miami if they got the chance
